Switching to Stony Brook Midwives
I have decided to switch to the Stony Brook Midwives for a variety of reasons. However, it is taking much longer than I intended and I'm getting nervous. At the "Meet the Midwives Night" they made it seem so easy and that they would have your records forwarded for you...well after several calls to their office, NOT the case. So I contacted my doctor last week and my medical records were finally faxed early this week. I have called SB Midwives Wed, Thurs, Fri with NOTHING. The receptionist says I need to speak with Jasmine, so I keep leaving vm's for her and not hearing back. One recepitionist said they could take a week to review my files, then would finally schedule an appt and it could take another 1-2 weeks to get in.
I am almost 29 weeks and getting really nervous!! I feel like I currently have NO doctor. I want to get in ASAP so that I can have as many appts as possible to meet as many midwives as I can before I deliver.
My OB gave me a script to have my glucose testing at 26 weeks, but I haven't done it yet because I've been trying to get in with the midwives and don't want to go get labwork done that will get sent back to him....I'm just becoming really frustrated and scared.
I know some of you have switched to Stony Brook Midwives during your pregnancy....is this normal?? What should I do??? Continue to wait it out??
TIA...sorry so long.
