yeah, guys are like that.
even when we moved, DH tried to force the furniture arrangement so his computer would be near 'his side of the bed'
He finally relented when he realized how amazingly awkward the layout would be.... but he STILL didn't shift sides.
we also keep those sides when we're away.

I chose "other". We have our usual sides, DH near the clock/lamp b/c he usually is the one to set the alarm for himself. (Although with our 9 week old, it hasn't been set in a LONG time!!)
Towards the end of my pregancy DH switched sides w/ me b/c his side is closer to the bathroom and I was up 2-3 times per night.
Now, if I have to set the alarm earlier, if DH is away on business, or if I just happen to fall asleep there and he is with DD, I sleep in "his side". I'd say the norm, however, is for us to sleep on our "own" sides.

Set sides
When we were in our apartment Kevin wanted the right side bc it was closest to the door, in case of an intruder. Now we're in the house and we kept sides, except the door is now on the left and closest to me!!
We tried to switch once, I couldn't sleep. Never again!!

Because I'm your DH in this scenario, my advice is to let it go. Seriously, everything can be great between me & DH and I think sometimes he brings up "let's switch sides" just to stir up trouble. I really wish he would let it go once and for all.
Yes, marriage and compromise, blah blah blah but I "refuse" to switch sides. I need to be next to MY dresser with the alarm clock on the side near the bathroom ... end of story.

Same here!!! After sleeping together for almost 10 years, I'm just used to him being on my left side. I don't think I'd be comfortable any other way.

We have set sides, but we've changed a few times when we've moved. He also asked me if I wanted to switch when I was PG to be closer to the bathroom. Also, we switch sides when we go away, just to "shake things up a bit".
