taking infant to resturant? when?
Peds told me 8 weeks. So of corse I listened and wouldn't. I agreed with the pediatrician (jmo)
But now my DD is 11 weeks old. I would love to go out to dinner or lunch with her but I am afraid of germs.
When did everyone else take their babies out to eat?

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
I started taking DS at 8 weeks.
ETA: When he was young, I kept him in the car seat most of the time and just took him out if he was fussy. He slept a lot when ate.

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
He was almost 5 weeks the first time. We keep him in the carseat and he usually sleeps. We try to get a seat where it is not crowded.

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
11 weeks is a great time to take them out to dinner. I loved the restaurants that had slings for the car seat. I would bring DD in asleep and get to eat some of my lunch or dinner.

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
2 weeks. We often wheel the snap and go into the restaurant or else keep the carrier on the seat next to us.

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
Probably about 2-3 wks old...we would take her during her napping times and she literally slept the WHOLE meal! If she happeend to wake up we fed her and kept normal routines. of course I didn't let anyone touch her

DS was 1 week old. he's so used to it that he's an angel whenever we go out to eat--people stop and compliment him all the time

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
I think a week or two?
Definitly by the time he was 3 weeks old (b/c my MIL and SIL visited and I know we went out to dinner twice) and I'm pretty sure we went with my mom before that
Honestly, my DS at 2, is still great at restaurants b/c we've always taken him. Obviously I realize this can still change, but he enjoys going out to eat

Yeah same here. The way i felt about it was we weren't going to pass him around to people, so why not? It's much easier taking them out then at that age than as they get older.

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
I guess I'm in the minority, but we haven't taken DS to a restaurant yet and he is 11 weeks old. I'm too afraid of him crying and disturbing the other diners. He doesn't sleep a lot during the day, but isn't a particularly fussy baby either.

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
About 7 weeks... he's great at restaurants. Usually sleeps and if we feed him he goes back... take turn holding him. Just bring the snap and go and sits in the car seat in the snap and go

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
I think they were around 7 or 8 weeks. It was so easy then, they would just sleep!

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
I don't remember how old...but he was still a newborn. I kept him in the stroller with the net down as if to say "back away"
Good luck!

Re: taking infant to resturant? when?
DD is 6.5 weeks and we've only taken her to outside restaurants or inside restaurants at very off times when we knew they wouldn't be crowded. I think coming week will be the week I make the jump to going to an inside restaurant at a normal time. I think I'm a little nervous to do it the first time but after I'm used to it I'm sure it will be fine!
