Talk to me about taking 8-9 month olds on vacation....
We are going on a mini 4 day vacation to Lancaster in the summer with the twins. Trying to prepare for what I will need.
Is this a good or bad age for traveling? Any suggestions or advice?
We are driving. TIA!

Re: Talk to me about taking 8-9 month olds on vacation....
We took Nick to FL when he was 7 months old. We had a car there (stayed w/ friends), so i didn't pack a lot in way of diapers/formula, because I would be able to just hit a walmart and get it there (probably cheaper then here).
I'm at work now, so as I think of stuff I'll edit.

we took Kaydyn to Disney at 10 months and she had a blast. We packed just enough diapers/formula/food for one day and then bought everything else when we got down there.
We packed a few small toys for her. She was perfectly happy just crawling/cruising around the hotel room.
She was fine travelling. We had a really good time.

We went to London when the boys were 7 mos & 2 1/2 years old. We bought food and supplies there, save what we needed whilst in transit. Definitely have anough to keep them occupied in transit. The boys travelled really well, and we were gone for 6 days.

we took josh to aruba and he turned 8 months when we were there. it was great for us bc he wasn't fully crawling yet so he was easier to watch and small toys kept him happy (phone, books, teethers). it gets harder when they are on the move.
we are probably going to lancaster this summer too!

Best time to do it - before they crawl or walk

DS was 8 months when we took him to disney. It was a PERFECT age. He still slept in his stroller when he was very tired, and he was interested in everything around him.
In lancaster you'll have places to buy diapers and wipes etc., so I think it will be even easier, since you won't have to pack as much ((well easier than packing all that stuff, because what is easy with 3 kids! lol)).

We flew to Atlanta at 8 months. It was great. We packed all the baby food up and went. The hardest part was napping. He napped in my arms or in a hotel bed with me.. or in a stroller.

90% sure, Homewood suites for the kitchenette...But the downside is no indoor pool/ kids activities/playground but I dont think we need it. I need to book ...I will probably tonight.

We took DD to Florida at that age and it was a great time to travel with her. We packed enough food, formula diapers for the flight plus a little more just in case and bought more there.

The kitheonette is a huge plus with a hotel stay. When we went to Mystic we got a room at the Marriot Residence Inn. The bedroom had a door we could close and there was a seperate living room/kitchenette area. It was perfect for when we put DD down for a nap.

Just got back Tuesday night from a 4 day trip to Georgia to see my sister. DD is 10 months. We stopped at Wal Mart before going to my sister's house to pick up necessities. It was GREAT traveling with her, she was actually easier then my 22 month old! Have fun!

Re: Talk to me about taking 8-9 month olds on vacation....
We went to VT and ME with the twins when they were about 10 months old. It wasn't terrible at all. What stunk was the hotel we booked at didn't have an elevator (we didn't know this) and we had to lug up a lot of stairs! That being said, we had a great time and that is when the twins really learned to crawl!
