tankless water heaters - how much $ do you really save?
Our hot water heater broke yesterday and the tech is coming today to fix/replace it. DH asked them to look into a tankless unit, but I guess that would be $1500 up front and require some add'l plumbing/hard wiring, etc...
We have two little kids and do a TON of laundry plus showers, dishwashing, etc....I agree with the concept of the tankless unit, but how much $$ would we save per month by switching? We have natural gas already for our current unit so I'm just curious....
ETA: I'm becoming a SAHM in the next two weeks and we're obviously going down to one income so if we can pay $1500 now and know we'll be saving an extra $40-$50/mo in energy costs I'll definitely do it....
