Re: Tax Rebate-Spin-off
In order to stimulate the economy, it would have to go back into the economy through the purchase of goods or services. I plan on saving it so I"m not doing my part.

Re: Tax Rebate-Spin-off
like I said in my other post - we always put our refund in savings. if we do get a rebate, we're spending it!

Re: Tax Rebate-Spin-off
if this really does happen, i'm putting it right in savings! we're saving for something much more important than buying some nonsense with it.

Re: Tax Rebate-Spin-off
I think most people would use it for bills or paying debt (like I would)..and it won't do much for the economy. I think so many people are short at least $600 for their bills that it won't be much of a windfall.

Re: Tax Rebate-Spin-off
so if some of us pay bills or get out of debt with it, do you think that will make you go and and buy more stuff of maybe go out to dinner more, now that you debt is better? That would stimulate the economy.

I just read...any couple making over $175,000 will not be receiving a rebate check.

For me personally, not really. I am trying to pay all of my credit cards down....down the line it helsp because it's helping me pay them off quicker, and once they are paid i will have a lot of extra money each month that ordinarily would have gone to paying CCs..but for me it's still months or over a year into the future...and that's if I dont have another huge setback like the car repairs i faced this year

Re: Tax Rebate-Spin-off
if we get it- it wouldn't really be put to anything specific. we have no debt, i guess you could always save more but we're comfortable in that area, too... we have a few trips that we want to take this year, but we were planning on taking them anyway, so its not really a stimulus- although, maybe i'd be more inclined to do more shopping than usual because some of the trip is 'already paid for'?
