teacher assignments.
when does your school district send out your childs teacher assignment?
I just found out that they dont send out the assignments until 5 days before school starts!

That's pretty standard as they don't want parents flooding the office complaining about Teacher X and wanting their child transferred.

Considering I am a teacher and I don't get my assignments until the 2nd to last week in august, I could see why they don't send it out to parents until the week before!

The kids get it at the end of the year on their report card. The K assignments were recived about the 2nd week of July.

We find out the following year's room number on the final report card. They don't give a teacher name and we haven't received anything yet. I know what teacher is in that room though so I know her teacher.

End of August. It's fine for Noah.. because almost all his school supplies are by grade. ROBBIE is going into middle school and the school supply list goes by whatever team he's assigned to so I can't really do much shopping for him until then.

I know it is late for DS's school. If we get one specific teacher I will call no matter when it is. I realize that I should give her a chance but I have heard too much from too many people. No  , please.

We usually recieve it the week before scoold starts. Our district also gives parents an opportunity to write a placement request letter in the spring. While we are unable to request a specific teach, we can request that certain children not be placed together (providing you have a valid reason) you can also share information that your son or daugheter thrives with a teacher who has a particular personality or teaching style. They are pretty strict that they will not accept placement requests after the deadline date. Just way to may kids to handle last minute changes.

See this is what i thought!
If parents have an issue with the teacher their child gets they will complain if its June or August/September!

I think you're in the clear.
From your mouth to G-d's ears!!!! The more I think about the things I have heard, the more I feel that I can't let it happen. I don't make waves unless I really have to but I would have to in this case. I trust the people who have told me things plus I keep hearing more and more great things about the other teachers .  I hope we know soon!
