Teacher moms?
I'm going to be going back to work at the end of Septemeber and i wanted to know how you handle getting DC to daycare and get ready for work.
My mom is going to watching DD but I don't know how i am going to get her ready to go there. Do i wake her up? do i try to get her in her PJs while she is sleeping? Do i feed her before i leave?
She will be 5 months old when i go back so i am assuming she will not be waking up to eat before i have to leave. Right now she sleeps from 9pm to 7am.
can you tell me about your morning routine.

Re: Teacher moms?
Hi, I went back to work last Sept when DD was 8 weeks old. My MIL watches her but she lives 25 minutes away.
I was pumping at the time so I'd get up, pump & then wake up DD & feed her a bottle & leave her in her PJ's. I'd change her before we left (diaper).
I made sure MIL had her own stash of diapers/wipes/bibs/pacis/spare clothes so I wasn't packing a bag every day.
She'd either sleep in the car or else be totally alert.
When we got to MIL's & I left MIL would finish her bottle & lay her back down
At the time DD slept 7:30pm-630-7am & I was waking her around 6am.
I'm having the same predicament now as DD is now sleeping 8pm-8am & I hate waking her up at 6, but I have no choice.

Re: Teacher moms?
thanks so much.
my mom lives close and does have diapers, wipes, formula, etc..
however, in my (selfish) mind i want to wake DD up and feed her so she sees ME first thing in the morning. but at the same time, i don't want to wake her if it's not necessary. i'm so torn. i also won't be the one dropping her off because DH leaves later than me. I just love our mornings together that i am going to have a tough time if i don't see her adorable little eyes looking back at me

Re: Teacher moms?
My DH, parents, and IL's watch my DS and DD they all come to the house so I have it really easy. Both are sleeping when I leave so it makes it easier to leave too.

Re: Teacher moms?
im in the same predicament as you except i'm going back as soon as school starts. I THINK this is what I'll do...
5:30 am (at the latest) I'll wake up, take shower, eat, get dressed , etc 6:15 (at latest) wake DD up and nurse her in her pjs, change diaper, get everything else ready 6:45 leave house
My aunt is watching DD tue-thur and she'll be with another sitter mon and fri. I'll be leaving diapers, wipes, change of clothes with each of them, but also pack a diaper back with stuff for the day and leave it with them each morning.
Next week I'm going to do a practice run with my aunt :) I"ll try to follow this routine and leave DD with her while I go to school for just a couple of hours to get a few things done in my classroom. I"ll let you know how it goes! That's something you could do too though. Even if you don't go to school. Just go out for a few hours in the morning and get a few things done!

Re: Teacher moms?
i've been doing a small practice run this week. I am taking a grad class so i've been getting up early and dropping DD off. However, when i go back to work it will be an even earlier morning and i won't be the one dropping her off.
A lot of my issue with it is her not seeing her mommy when she gets up.
...and actually going back to work is going to be a whole other issue. i want to stay home

Well in the beginning I'd let MIL feed her when she got there, but I missed holding her & feeding her the bottle, so I woke her up a few minutes early to do it.
Now she's no longer on the bottle, I'm going to miss it in the am, but we can still cuddle
