Teaching a boy to pee on the potty..stupid question
I know it's crazy early but DH is worried about how to teach him..
Obviously jOhn will learn to sit at first..but I heard it's good to see the father go to the bathroom.. but he stands.. (obviously)
so how do you do it? Have DS watch DH or not use that method at all..

he will first learn by sitting.. once he masters that, then he will stand... my ex showed my DS.. we also used cheerios that we throw into the toilet so that he can have "target" practice

DS watches DH - I think it's really only so they can see and learn WHERE the pee comes from, not really HOW to do it.
I potty trained a boy once when I was a babysitter, the only annoying thing was getting him to remember to hold it down so the pee went in the toilet and not all over my leg

I think it would have been impossible for my DS to NOT watch DH going to the bathroom. There is no privacy in our house. Any time you go to the bathroom, he was right there. So yes, I think it's good for him to see an example of someone going standing up!

Erik sits. I'm sure he's seen Al in the bathroom, but we didn't make a practice of having him watch.
Its enough of a challenge to not make a mess while sitting. I'm in no rush to try standing.

Yeah I def want to teach him to sit at frist but was concerned that watching dad would confuse him ya know.
ETA: but I get LB's point that is shows them where it actually comes from.
