Team Green...nursery Q
So I am trying to decide whether we should paint the nursery neutral and then get bedding after, or get neutral bedding and paint the room after. Thoughts? I'd rather not paint after the baby arrives bc of the fumes (it will be late winter, may be too cold to keep the windows open), but I want something that is not plain... and ideas??

I am Team also and painted the nursery a nice cream color. The bedding will be purchased after birth. I just couldn't decide on a gender neutral theme.

I agree about painting the room - with the fumes and all and I don't think you'll want the hassle of painting (even if you hire someone) once the baby arrives. Picking out bedding is easier.

paint first and get bedding items later. you aren't going to use the quilt or the mobile anyway, so it would really be for the bedskirt, window treatments, sheets, and maybe a bumper.

Re: Team Green...nursery Q
we are team I chose 2 bedding sets (1 for a boy, 1 for a girl) and I picked a light green (BM Pale Vista) that was an accent in both of the sets. I wanted to do a cream/beige color but we have that in the rest of the house

we were team green last time and this time as well. We painted the room neutral and got neutral bedding for my ds. Haven't decided about bedding for ds #2 - I might wait until baby is born for that bedding. The first time around i wanted the nursery all set up and ready for the little one

Re: Team Green...nursery Q
http://www.mythicpaint.com/ has absolutely ZERO VOCs, and you could even paint the room with DC in there.
BM has some very low VOC paint, where the fumes and off-gassing are negligible.
With the low or zero VOC paints, there's probably less chemicals in the air as soon as it's dry, then there are a few weeks after a "regular" paint has dried.

Re: Team Green...nursery Q
we are using a neutral silver sage color for our nursery. The top half will be all silver sage and the bottom half will be stripes of silver sage and a gender specific color. DH will paint the stripes after the baby is born- brown if it's a boy, pink if it's a girl. Not sure about bedding yet, we may register for silver sage but it's pricey so we may just wait till after the baby is here and look for soemthing to match the gender stripe.

We're painting a pale green - Behr Palm Breeze. It will go nicely with either pink or blue.
