Tell me about what I need to bring to the hospital if I am having a c-section..
I just found out I am having a section in a week and a half, what do I need to make sure to bring to hospital with me outside of the normal what I would bring with me for a vag birth!
Any help would be appreciated!!!

I always bring the boppy with me, it's easier to lay the baby on that since it's uncomfortable to feed them without it.
Other than that, I think everything else would be the same for a vaginal birth.
Congrats - can't believe it's so soon!

I agree with Diana. I was also very swollen and sore around my belly and couldn't wear pants comfortably for a few days. Bring nightgowns instead.

I used the hospital disposable panties the whole time. They really weren't that bad and stretched so it didn't bother me.
Pants bothered me so a nightgown and robe.

Granny panties!!!! There's no way you can wear bikinis or low cut undies. I had to send DH out to buy me granny panties.

I didn't bring anything different than when I delivered vaginally. I still used my pillow from home, super comfy pants and granny panties... Have a great surgery!

I second the boppy and the night gown, I was very sore and couldn't wear pants for the first 2 days after.

I never had a problem wearing yoga type pants after my c-sections (I have had 3).
Pants, granny panties sports bra or nursing bra socks slipper post-partum support wrap (they sell them in maternity stores)

They gave me one at the hospital! Try to get as much stuff as possible that you can.

ITA with everyone else. I didn't know I was having one with DD and I didn't have anything special with me, and didnt really need anything. You may want to consider what you want to wear in the hospital though...I wore the gown for 2 days and then a nightgown/nightshirt the last 2 days....some people bring pants and a top and it would have been uncomfortable for me.

Thanks everyone! Do you think Yoga pants are going to make me uncomfortable? I think a trp to Marks & Spencer to get more nightgowns is going to be on the cards for me this weekend!!

I don't think they would make you uncomfortable, it's just the process of getting them on! Everyone is different though.

Re: Tell me about what I need to bring to the hospital if I am having a c-section..
I had 2 CS (one unplanned)...after the gown the first day, I lived in yoga pants/PJ bottoms. They only checked you once or twice a day & to me I felt much more comfortable in pants than in a nightgown; especially w/ visitors (if you are getting up/down out of bed). It didn't bother me/the incision.
Do yourself a favor though & take off the bandage when they let you (but after a shower) the tape will kill you.
I too bought the disposible undies & they were great.

I also used the disposable panties, They were a godsend for me because even the granny panties were uncomfortable for me. Make sure you steal some of them to bring home with you. I also agree about bringing nightgowns and a boppy pillow.

Like other said... boppy, granny panties, a nightgown, and something REALLY loose fitting to wear home.
Good luck Rachel!!!

I started wearing one, when the nurse told me I shouldn't - she said that when you use one, it delays the healing process and getting back into shape because you rely so much on the support, rather than building your stomach muscles backup.
