My mom is 68 years old & watches both my kiddos 3 days a week. She & my dad play bocce in their community & she's involved w/ the women's club & she & my dad entertain at least 2x a week! She's also a big reader & involved w/ the church.

My Mom (whose name is Mary as well!) is 58 years old. She stopped working right around the time that my oldest brother was born (he is going to be 37 in about a month). She was a SAHM. I only moved out a few months ago and my almost 35 year old brother lives with my parents, and I think she still mothers both of us. 
She's had breast cancer since I was 12, (I'll be 25 in a few months), but she is doing very well.
She likes to do crafts, go out to dinner, shop, and clean. She LOVES to clean. She practically begs me to let her clean our house. I tell her that she doesn't have to do that, but she insists so I let her lol.
My Dad is 59 and works as a certified financial planner. He has been at the company since he was 16 years old, and his mother worked at the same place. He loves sports and horse racing.
As I've gotten older, they've started going out more, because I drag them out lol
Jen, I'm so glad your Mom is doing ok!!!! My DH had prostate cancer, and he is doing well also. You know us Moms, we like to Mother; My Mom who's almost 83,still does it to me!!
 Are you blessed or what, to have a cleaning lady?!!!!! That's so thoughtful of you to get your Parents out!!!!! Does Dad plan to retire?  Mary

My mom is currently helping my sister take care of my sister's 3 month old twin babies. At times, she helps me out with my DD too.
Awww, Lauren, and I bet she loves every minute of it!!!!! Don't tell Debi, but I secretly wish she would have twins some day!!! There's a good chance, because of her age, and my Dad's Grandmother had three sets of twins, and her family line had 27 sets!!!! Mary

My mom is amazing! She is a school nurse. She doesn't even take the summers off...does summer school. Up until recently worked PT in an ER as well.
She has a different school calendar than me so any days she has off she watches my girls.

my mom is 63 and works as a school aid in a high school...she has less than 2 months until she is retired and can become permanent babysitter (my sister is due in 3 weeks and I'm due May 2nd)

I don't think my Dad will retire for a looong time; I asked him recently if he was planning too, and he seemed to imply that he was sticking around there for awhile lol.

Both of my parents are 66. My dad works full time and is the primary caregiver of my mom. She is too ill to work anymore.

She's hanging in there. She's currently on the waiting list for a kidney transplant. She was just approved so we're hoping she gets one soon

My mom enjoys being a transcriptionist. It's actually kind of cool because she can tell me what prescriptions I'll be given for whatever ailments I have before their prescribed to me, or knows how to pronounce them and what they are so it's helpful! Her and I pass books back and forth like crazy (I'm a big reader too). She's into Jodi Picoult and enjoys reading Temple Grandin (my brother has autism, so anything related to the topic is something she likes to keep up on). My great-grandmothers were off the boat Italian, so anything sauce related is awesome. She's passed down a lot of these recipes to me.

The day she retires is the day I'll go back to work. I can only take her in doses which is ironic bc she is a great mother and even better grandmother.

Hi!!!!! I understand; My Mom lived with us, and while we love each other, there are challenges/friction sometimes, when a Mom and Daughter have different ways of doing things, or looking at things. Mary

my mother is 49 and works as a receptionist. her hobbies are shopping first and foremost (LOL), cooking, entertaining, and decorating. plus she loves spending time with her family, especially her grandson, and her friends.
