Tell me everything about making you own baby food
I want to do this. I have a food processor and a steamer basket...what else do I need to know? Any good websites I can visit?
I have no idea where to even start
TIA

Best website ever!
It's super easy and once you do it a few times it is even easier.

Re: Tell me everything about making you own baby food
First of all, I found making baby food one of the easiest things I ever did, and one of the most convenient. I will say that after she was 6 months, she just got whatever we ate pureed in the magic bullet. She loved spicy, garlicy food from that age on. I honestly do think that the more flavorful you make their food, the more likely it is that they'll be good eaters. Most babies prefer spices in their foods, but jarred foods obviously don't have that in them. The only things I stayed away from were adding salt or sugar and she had a milk allergy, so no milk.
I didn't even steam anything, I felt it took the flavor out. I would roast a chicken for dinner, then puree a ton of it and freeze it for future use. I also used very ripe bananas and pears a lot and just mushed them up, that was simple. Apple sauce always had cinnamon added to it. I'd puree grapes with chicken, she loved that. Really anything you can think of. Granted I tried all the foods separately first to make sure there were no allergies, but then I just went to town on what I made for her. I'm really looking forward to doing it again for this next baby!
