Tell me how to bring on labor!
Given that I am expecting a big baby Dr. wants to do a c-section in week 38 or 39 if I don't go into labor by then. I would really prefer not to have a c-section. As of week 37 I'll try and do anything and everything that could work to bring on labor. Please tell me what you've tried or heard so I can start making plans.

How big is the baby? My sil delivered her 10lb, 40z baby vaginally....but then she is a real tough cookie. I probably would have opted for the c-section. Wish I had some advice. Good luck!

The day before I had my son I did a few things.
-I walked all over Smithaven mall buying things and getting ready for baby.
-Ate Lamb Pasanda (Indian food)
-Had s-e-x with DH
After I ate the lamb pasanda I lost my mucous plug. The next morning I was in labor and had DS at 9:15 pm

I got my eyebrows waxed in the morning and walked alot.
I had Chinese food and went into labor that night and had him at 1:25pm the next day!

I did squats like 50 per day and my little one was one week early. Also walked one mile per day.

exercise and BD - those are two things that can definitely bring on labor in some people!

these are the things that brought on my labor:
got up early, cleaned the entire house (deep /spring cleaning), Did all Laundry, Hedge the bushes, power washed the front walk way and back patio, did more yard work, cooked a big meal, went for a 2 mile walk. Finished by 9pm, woke up at 1:50 am in labor, went to the hosptial by 5:30am, had my daughter at 11:27am.

i had a 91b 13 oz baby and im 5 ft 2 inches tall and did it vaginally. doctors these days want to do a c section as a quick easy way out. i would question his intent. my cousin had a 10lb 6 oz baby and is 5ft 3 inches tall and we are both thin or were thin women before pregnancy. good luck to you. there is no reason unless the baby is breach that they should do a c section.

Because I have already delivered a biggish baby with NO ISSUES they feel that I can handle a 10 pounder no problem!!!!!!!!! My new doctors feel pretty sure that do to my history I wont get much past 36/37 weeks so Im looking at more of an 8ish pounder...with that said....should I get to 37 I will start the compaign of getting JR. out!!!!!!!!! I plan on:
BDing
Lots of "BIG Os" (will handle this myself if I have too)
Lots and lots of walking!!!!!

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I tried everything and it didn't work. I really think these babies come when they are ready. Why won't your doctor let you go until your due date? Big baby or not, they should give you the option of going to at least your due date. Most Drs. let you go past that.

I agree. They are planning an 11 pounder for me and said they'd decide around week 39 what to do with me. I hope your doctors don't push you!!

My doctors said the same thing..(although I more than likely will not go til then)..Should the baby be as big as expected they will decide at 39 weeks what the plan of action will be..
