Temper Tantrums at 10 months?!
I don't know what to do. DD is throwing what I can only describe as temper tantrums. She is screaming at the top of her lungs to the point where she is gagging and will throw herself to the ground.
It happens whenever she wants something she can't reach or I take something away from her, when she wants out of her highchair, whenever DH and I walk out of view, wants more food (puffs, goldfish...etc), whenever she wants to crawl somewhere she can't....you get the idea
It's getting to the point where I'm embarrassed/nervous to take her out in public because the other day she just made my life miserable the whole time we were out, it sounded like I was murdering her.
How do I get her to stop this?

Ignore it.....whatever you do DO NOT give in to it..it'll only make it worse.
Caden started it about a month ago himself when he doesnt get his way. Especially when he wants something he cant have or be somewhere he cant be..I just let him cry and walk away from him.

Re: Temper Tantrums at 10 months?!
My DS started doing this a month or so ago - he is 10.5 months now. I too thought it was too early. Thankfully, he is mostly well behaved in public as he is shy and more reserved but, at home, - he wants things WHEN he wants them and he constantly wants to be moving around - so if I try to put him in his high chair or hold him back - or, the changing table forget about it - he whines and kicks and will even cry! Sometimes when i put him down for a nap he throws a full on temper tantrum - kicking and banging his arms and screaming! If he sees something he likes he will point and whine and motion until he gets it. It drives me NUTS!

My dd is 10m and does this too.. This is when they learn if they can get away with it and get what they want. I just try and hold my growned with her. Luckily my dd gets distracted easily and finds something else to grab her attention so tantrums dont last long.

Oh yes, Miss Ella has been throwing tantrums but I firmly tell her no and stop and she usually stop. I try to very consistent with telling her no firmly and so far it has been working.

Yup, add me to this list. At around 10 months, throwing his head back and falling to the ground. I never give in, I just let him do it and wait for him to be finished!!

Re: Temper Tantrums at 10 months?!
Elizabeth started doing this about 3 weeks ago and then it stopped (for now). She would tighten her body up, I thought I would drop her! And then she would throw herself backwards! so scary - I thought she would hurt herself!

Re: Temper Tantrums at 10 months?!
DD has just started doing something like this but not really screaming. She grunts and whines and it usually is because I won't give her my earring because she rips it out of my ear! This is Day 3 and she still doesn't get it. I cannot believe how mad she gets! Hits me and smacks my face and pulls my shirt....unreal.

MIkayla used to do that but I nipped that in the bud right away
I used to take her hand and say "no hitting, make nice"...she could cry but she got the hint quickly.... then she started hitting my and immediately making nice

My ds does this too - when he is crawling somewhere he shouldn't be or climbing on something he shouldn't be and i pick him up AND my favorite place - the changing table It is SO scary b/c he is strong and he flings himself with a lot of force!

Re: Temper Tantrums at 10 months?!
I am so glad you posted this. We are going through the same thing and DS is only 9 months. He throws himself back and screams until he almost chokes also. I have to try to stand strong and ignore it. I am having a real hard time with that. It gets so bad sometimes I just cry.
