The ivf nurse told me my BFP is a BFN?????

Ok so I called the office to TRY to tell the nasty nurse that I've been testing since last wed and got a BFN up untill sunday and that I've been testing monday am/pm and today in the am. BUT I never got to tell her that because she was so nasty.

So all I got out was I tested and got a bfp on sunday and she gos " oh no that's way to early. Its a false postive. Your getting a postive because of the hcg shot till being in your system. Again didn't get to tell her its been 14 days since the hcg shot. Ugh can she be right?? I'm so mad and upset right now

When I tested this AM the line was so much darker then it was yeaterday morning. Yesterdays line you really had to look to see it. Today there was no question that there was two pink lines. If the hcg was in my system it wouldnt go from a light line to a dark line right? I also took a digital yesterday evening and it poped up within 2 mins reading pregnant.

So what does everyone think? Any honesty or info will really help me I just want this to be real!!

If you tested prior to getting a BFP and got the BFN, there is no more trigger in your system. The BFP line is getting darker, I say it's a true BFP. When is your beta scheduled for?

Not sure where you go but some IVF nurses can be very nasty when it comes to this b/c they specifically tell you not to test early for a number of reasons.
I tested early even after they told me not to, and assumed because I got my BFP that everything was fine, and in my case that wasn't the case at all. I know there are a bunch of people on the other end of the scale who tested early and it WAS viable and everything was fine, but they have their reasons why they want you to wait until beta day. When is your beta?


ETA: You posted while I was typing-- you still have almost a full week before beta day... I doubt they'd let you come in this early to be honest, I'd just hang in there and keep testing if you find comfort in that. Or call your GP and ask for a beta test and see if they'll do one if it will put your mind at ease.

they want you to wait for beta, because like Sharon mentioned, you could get a BFP but if the numbers aren't right, then the pregnancy isn't viable.

they just don't want us to get our hopes up

I had to wait 2 full weeks after my 5 day transfer for a beta but I totally trusted the HPT when it said I was pregnant. Pay no attention to the nurse, the HPT getting darker is a clear sign of pregnancy. If it was trigger, it would be getting lighter. Try to relax and operate under the assumption that you are pregnant.

I would agree with the ladies that your BFP is a BFP. I know easier said than done, but try not to drive yourself too crazy in the meantime. If in fact you are pg, you don't need the added stress!

I'm keeping everything crossed for you in the meantime!

Buy yourself a digital test so you don't have to deal w/ the line reading ........Every Dr. or nurse I have ever met with said a "Pregnant" on a digital is a "PREGNANT"

Thanks everyone!!! I tested with a digital last night and it said PREGNANT. I'm going to buy more digitals and test with them till my beta on monday and pray super hard that I really am pregnant!

Tara, you are pregnant! I'm sorry the nurse was so rude to you.. but you barely even got to explain yourself. I know it's hard, but wait it out until the beta and I am praying that it all works out!

And this is the reason they tell you not to test at home...
Honestly - anything can happen in the next week. Not to be negative, but I've had enough positive HPT's with negative results that I won't test at home. There is the chance that this could turn out to be a chemical...or something else.
That is why the nurse got so negative...I think they get truly frustrated with people testing before beta. I went in one time for my beta all excited cuz I had gotten positives for a week before beta - we told our families - and my beta was 49....which is not a good thing when you've been getting postive hpts...

So, don't be mad at the nurse and try to stop testing....just wait for beta...the number is going to tell you wether its viable or not.

hmmm, I wonder who you spoke with bc I can tell you that none of the "regular" nurses were on today but I guess they truly want you to wait until Beta since it is a week away. But you know I have no doubt you are indeed PG!

Oh Lord I can probably guess who you spoke to! Some of those nurses are very nasty in there. I can only imagine what they have to deal with since I am sure I am just one of the many people that give them a run for their money but there is no reason to be so nasty!!!

I know nothing about the specifics of when you can test but I am sure you are right! By this time, it should be out of your system!

I started testing 6 days past a 3 day transfer so really 9DPO. My lines got darker like yours and now I'm 18 weeks pregnant. You're pregnant--I know it's hard to believe until you have the beta but try and stay positive. Sticky dust!
