Re: The missing boy from Brooklyn
Did they say why no one had to sign him out?
I know I have always had to sign my kids in and out of daycare, after and camp every single day.

Re: The missing boy from Brooklyn
It is a sad and scary world we are living in. It's unfortunate that I will never allow my daughter to walk the main street of our town the way I did as a young teenager unsupervised with my friends.
I cannot fathom the depth of grief this family, and sadly so many others, feel.

it is truly my biggest fear as a mother. that someone would harm my child. that my childs last moments would be in agony and terror.
me too. I dont think I could bear that. I for his parents, I couldnt do it. I really couldnt.
I cant believe it was THE FIRST time they let him walk home alone. Its not their fault at all, but if I were in their shoes, I dont think I could go on knowing if I had just said no........the guilt would consume me.

What I don't understand is how the camp allows the children to walk home alone. I always have had and do sign my kids in and out wherever they are at.

They said he'd been asking and they finally agreed to let him do it...and were waiting to meet him halfway. I can't imagine the guilt they feel right now....

i just can't with this.
I cannot believe that someone could hurt a child like this. that they could do that and then desecrate the body after.

Re: The missing boy from Brooklyn
I just caught the end of the press conference and I THINK I heard a reporter ask something about any relevance to 9/11 or the time 9:11, did anyone catch that?
This is the most horrific crime ever. I am sick, sad and crying for this poor family. I swear, I am NEVER letting my DD out alone, I just can't anymore.

I didn't hear the press conference but someone just told me that the police said that the boy apparently got lost and this guy told him he would help and take him where he needed to go

good lord, he was probably scared then to begin with......UGH, and to think he thought he was being helped when he was lost and just wanted to get home. Its all just to heartbreaking.
Seriously, what is the chance that the first time he walks home alone, he gets lost and the person who "helps" him is a murderer?!?!?! This is just awful on so many levels!!!! There are probably a million people on the streets of Brooklyn and this all happens at the same time this one EVIL EVIL b@stard is out and about! I cant even fathom.

This is so incredibly heartbreaking.
I read the Times article...sick, sick, sick.
It reminds me of the Etan Patz case.

And I'm sorry, what or why would 9:11 and 9/11 have any relevance on this boys murder? Some reproters so so F'innn stupid, I'm surprised they can put one foot in front of the other to walk.

Re: The missing boy from Brooklyn
So sad...
And now I just heard on the radio that a 14 year old Hasidic boy has gone missing up in Rockland County. He was walking home from camp.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?? There's definitely a possibility there's some connection.

Yes, there is a boy misisng from an Ulster County camp who is from Brooklyn. Not sure what connection, if any, there is to the 9 year old boy.

I just can't....this story is so disturbing. That poor little boy and family. I look at my son and just want to cry. I'm such a paranoid person to begin with and stories like this just make me never want to let my DS go!
