Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
Hi girls!!!!!!! Good to hear you are both hanging in there!
DB - sorry you hurt your neck I am sure you will be back in commission in no time. Kudos to you for keeping up with the dancing!!! I made a decision not to go running this weekend though I do have to say I miss my running routine badly I had done hours and hours of walking from shopping on both Saturday and Sunday and I wanted to save my energy for Monday mornings workout.
I have been doing double circuits since the Day 2 - one has not been enough for me. I really love the workouts and will definitely try and incorporate them into my routine when I am done.
Was hard getting out of bed this morning though. It was so cold! I had to convince myself to go because I would not want to go at night and I am glad I did.

Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
Posted by Ik1 I have been doing really well with the diet. I have been feeling great and dow 2 pounds but not being able to have any chocolate is killer and I have to make christmas cookie on the 19th.
Congrats on the 2 lbs!!! That is great!! I too lost this week, down 3. I am thinking though that we won't lose this weigh every week - too bad!
Do you think that having a piece of pure dark chocolate will help your craving? How about getting a nice piece of pure dark chocolate and just counting the calories or burning a few extra that day? I am sure if you just have a little bit it's fine. Jillian eats chocolate just about every day (dark chocolate anyway).
Luckily I am not doing any baking!!! I am a bit worried about Christmas day though. I want to enjoy myself! I think I may take the day "off" from the meal plan and just try and stay calorie conscious and eat as sensibly as possible. I am also jonesing for some wine but I am not going to drink for 30 days....pregnant people do it for 9 months right? 22 days to go!!!!
Have you girls noticed any differences yet? My arms and legs have definitely gotten more muscular and my belly has gone down a lot too.

Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
Hi girls - day 11 down and still going strong!!! I am going to go for a nice long run on Saturday. I have really missed running! Circuit training is fun but I need to get my run on
The one thing I have hard a really hard time with is the diet. I am counting every calorie but have not really been planning out my macronutrient ratio this week ahead of time.
I am finding myself very hungry so it's hard to stick to the meals I have planned for myself because I have had to make a few "emergency" trips to the vending machine to pick up a granola bar! I realized that eating every 4 hours is very hard for me...I am very used to eating smaller meals every 2-3 hours so that is what I have also gone back to (i.e eating when I am hungry). So far it's been working out much better and I am still eating good, nutritious foods so it's all good.
I have gotten quite a few comments from people at my gym about my workouts! This week alone 3 people have said what a tough routine I have.
I have been feeling really great and I see a big difference in my muscles especially my legs. Fat percentage is going down VERY slowly but it's going down!
How is everyone else?? DB are you feeling better?

Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
Day 11
I have not been having a problem with the diet. The workouts have been killer and I don't have all the machines at home so I substatute a couple of them. I have not followed the macronutrient ratio because I am a slow Oxydizer and its no Carbs. I feel great and even if the number isnt going down. My waist has gotten smaller so has my legs.
My biggest problem is next weekend because its cookie making time and I really have been looking forward to it so maybe I will eat all my calories in cookies JK, I have not decieded how I will handle that but I have been doing great so far so I am not worried. DB hope your feeling better.
Keep up the good work girls, we are almost half way there.

Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
I wasnt able to start Making the Cut on 12/1 because my daughter was sick and she just kind of took over my time and attention. I have the book and DH and I are going to do it on Jan 1.
We've done the fitness test - apparently I am really good at the wall sit - I made it 90 seconds with little problem - but pushups???? Oh lord - I was DYING.
I'm currently doing the Fat Smash Diet (the VH1 doctor made it) and my body always responds really well to it. So far I'm down 4 pounds. My goal is to lose another 2 pounds - then I'd LOVE to lose a bit with Jillian and just get into much better shape.
So to the Making the Cut ladies - I PROMISE I'll post my progress - sorry I couldnt do it this month - but I'm on break for most of January so it will be much better timing for me.
Keep up the GREAT work!

Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
Keep at it, ladies.
I am not better. Unfortunately, I've been in and out of work all week and will most likely be through next week.
It's easier to be on the diet without the workouts, that's for sure.
I plan to go back to it by the week of the 29th. I'm going to do the program in January when I'm all healed and rested up.
Can't wait to see your results when you're all done!!

Well Irene looks like it's just the two of us! Glad I'm not the only one not following the macronutrient ratio she recommended. I figure as long as I am getting enough protein and carbs in (and calories) things will be fine and dandy.
My holiday parties are starting up this weekend! My plan for the one on Saturday is to run in the morning beforehand and eat low calorie all day so I can have a few bites to eat at night. As it is I won't be drinking
Maybe try chewing gum while you bake. I am a big cookie dough sampler so that would probably be my plan! We can be strong together next week. I am having a holiday party at my house and I am tempted to have a bit of champagne. A little champagne never hurt anyone right...?

Sorry you couldn't join us but I will be overlapping with you in January. I am starting the program again on Jan 19th! I am following a similar workout routine for 2.5 weeks after MTC and then starting the program again on the 19th from Day1. I have a cruise in February and figure another round certainly couldn't hurt
I was the same way!!! My legs are really strong but my upper body is terrible! Pushups were the only section I scored a very poor in It's very hard for me to do all the pushups she prescribes the non-girly way so I do as many as I can that way and then do the rest my way (shhhh don't tell Jillian!).
Good luck on the 1st!!!

Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
Day 13 and still doing great. I must not lie, I did make cookies tonight a new reciepe so I did have one. I followed the program and all day and didnt go over the calories. I have not lost much more weight but definetly see a diffrence when I am wearing my clothes. I also think I am going to redue this program again onces its over. As for the holidays, I am not going to drink. I will do my best to follow the program to the fullest.

Thanks! I would have thought that carrying around my daughter since she was born (she's 19 months) would have given me some strength - but according to Jillian, I'm average. . . barely average.

IRENE!!!! Hang in there!!!!
I am doing pretty good. Am still having hunger issues and aside from Sunday have been pretty good diet-wise as well. If I am feeling really famished though I do go over my calorie allowance at times. If my body is hungry I need to eat...that's just how I work!
I know it's hard I have never been so committed to an exercise routine EVER. I just try to take it one day at a time. Some days are harder than others but I just get myself to the gym and work it out as best as possible.
Look at us - we are over halfway through! I just keep thinking of day 30 when I take my measurements and am so proud that I had given it my all for 30 days...that really keeps me going.

Re: The Official Making the Cut Thread - Post your meal plans and progress here!!!!
I am not giving up. Thank you for the support. I guess I was feeling sorry for myself this morning . I know we are halfway there and we need to keep pushing ourselves because otherwise we will be really disappointed with ourselves. I think I need to mix up the meals, I am getting sick of the same stuff and since I am trying to stay within the calories. Also, I havent really dropped much more weight which sticks but dont worry I am not giving up. Thanks for the support.

Yeah I definitely have those days. I know it stinks sometimes but then when you really think about it the workouts aren't that bad. In fact, I am going to make them part of my regular routine.
I think it's the commitment and dedication to the program is what really makes it tough. Not allowing yourself an extra day off or some sort of food that's not on the program. Doing the workout even though you really don't want to...
In the end I think even if I don't get the results I hoped for I have gained SO much from this program. I pack my gym bag, clothes for the day and backpack for school every night. I wake up every morning at 6am (I used to get up at 8!!), make my breakfast, walk the dog and head to the gym. I get to school earlier than I used to which has made me more productive. I am home at nights to spend time with DH because I do the workouts in the morning. I love that this program has finally helped me establish this routine and I hope to continue it just as rigorously after the 30 days are over.
Also, even though you may not have lost as much weight as you would've liked, think about how much you might've gained from the holiday season! I know I would not be doing this well had it not been for this program.
Okay as you can see I am having a good day and not a tough one. Tommorow may be a different story (or should I say Thursday because tommorow is an off day)

Dont feel bad because I did also. It was really hard but I do plan on starting again next month. It is a really hard month to be so good. I am glad that I was good for most of the month but with all the parties it was hard.
Your not a failure. You have lost so much weight and look fantastic. It is a really hard month to stay focused with all the stuff going on and all the holiday parties and treats.

Definitely the hardest month to do this for sure! I am restarting on the 5th. I am really going to try and do it full force the entire 30 days.
If anything I feel I was much more dedicated to working out (and eating to some degree) then I normally would've been this month and that is definitely a success!
I was 3 lbs down from when I began but I don't want to take my measurements just yet. I want to do it after I do a full 30 days and do the program to the max.
Thanks for the kind words We'll start up again next month!! Now that I have the hang of the exercise portion I can work more on really refining the eating part of it!
What day will you be starting?
