The Perk of Being Petite and Pregnant - shopping related
I discovered that for us petite ladies, when it comes to maternity tops, many tops made for regular size ladies will fit us even into the 3rd trimester!
I went to Macy's today and dropped about 300 bucks for 10 fall/winter tops to wear during the last trimester...
The a-line, babydoll and empire cut tops are also made long so they fit over our belly with alot of room to spare. :D
Anyone tried this route yet?

I actually went that route when I was pregnant w/my ds.
I just seem to be having problems now w/finding petite maternity pants/jeans - especially for work that don't have the "secret belly" fit (or full panel) w/out paying too much for them. I know GAP and Ann Taylor Loft has nice ones but I think they are

I know what you mean, the pants are the difficult part.
I actually get most of my pants from Mimi Maternity or Motherhood. Motherhood has really affordable petite secret fit pants for $25 and alot of them are good enough to wear to work...
I'm usually terribly picky about pants since I work in a very professional setting and must look presentable. But these $25 pants look similar to the regular ones I get from Ann Taylor, BR and Gap. The feel is a different story. :D

I am not petite but I am still wearing regular shirts. I think it may be the styles popular now rather than a specific size or body type

i was petite when i had my 1st almost 8 years ago, so i got away with bigger regular clothes and elastic waist shorts- it think i owned less than 5 peices of maternity wear. Now im more of an "average" size person- size 5 preprego and maternity clothes are a must.

this is one reason (and probably the only reason) i like being pregnant during the summer this time around, so far i haven't had the length problem...
with DD #1 i wound up buying regular length pants and had my mother or MIL alter the length. i really had no other choice because i refuse to spend lots of money on maternity clothes. even if you take it to be professionally tailored, it still will come out less expensive...
i'm glad i still have those pants for my last 3 months!
