Yes, SHE did give birth recently....
Apparently, she enjoys being a woman. If she just wants some facial hair, use some Rogaine or something.....

Ok I was understanding with the first but now with a second SHE has decided to embrace her FEMALE parts so this is a pregnant FEMALE that WANTS to be a man when it's convinent for HER......Sorry but this irks me

when "he" actually delivers the baby out of a penis, I might actually pay attention to this, until then SHE should stop trying so hard for attention

Re: The pregnant "man"
I think what she is doing is disgraceful – there are people that are seriously conflicted by things like this and she’s making a mockery of the whole process.
It must be hard enough to not relate to your manhood or womanhood and to have this @ss flip back & forth is worse then rolling around in a wheel chair pretending to be crippled until they want to climb a mountain.

Here's the story (from Gossip Queen on celebrity board):
Thomas Beatie — a.k.a. the "pregnant man" — gave birth to a baby girl on Friday, ABC News reports.
Beatie, 34, who was born a woman, had his breasts surgically removed and legally changed his gender from female to male, he revealed on The Oprah Winfrey Show in April.
Although he took hormones and lived as a man, he said he kept his female sex organs in hopes to get pregnant one day.
He said his pregnancy was a "human desire" and that as a person he has "the right to have my own biological child."
Being pregnant, said Beatie, did not make him feel more feminine.
"It doesn't make me want to go and shave my legs or something," he told Winfrey. "I'm a man, I just happen to be a pregnant man."
The most important message, said Beatie: "Different is normal and love makes a family. And that's all that matters."
He is currently at work on a memoir, Love Makes a Family: A Memoir of Hardship, Healing and an Extraordinary Pregnancy, due in September.

Thanks for sharing! Oh God this really is ridiculous. She is a SHE who cares that she's pregnant. Some people will do anything for the limelight.

ITA! I hope they have another happy, healthy child.
Look, I don't really "get" all the media attention surrounding this and I dislike very much so that he has sought so much attention from the media on this. I also don't really feel the need to read up on these people, but some of the comments about this story (back when he was pregnant with their first child and now that he is pregnant with the second child) really, really disturb me. (Not referring to this thread or even necessarily to LIF posters... just generally comments people have made when discussing this story.)
Just when I think this country has come so far in its acceptance of different people, in its acceptance of gay people in particular, we see so much open negativity and even sometimes downright hostility aimed at transgendered people. Many of us are blessed never to have had to struggle with our sexual and gender identity, but that doesn't give us the right to be so utterly judgmental and upset with those who do.
We've been over the fact that this person is legally a man and identifies himself as a man before. We all know that he also chose to keep his female reproductive organs so he could one day have a child (as he has). This isn't news. However insisting that we must refer to him as "she" is fairly insensitive. yes, we all know that he was born a female and has female reproductive organs. According to himself and the law, however, he is a male. Whatever your opinions about what he is, though, I think people need to respect this person's right to identify himself however he sees fit.
Again, I don't like the media spin and attention this story has gotten and I don't like the way he has sought the media attention with respect to both pregnancies. However, I am saddened by so many of the comments I've heard about this person -- not just on this thread, not just on LIF, but in general. Yes, I get it's different and people are going to talk... but I really thought a lot of society was moving past that.

Re: The pregnant "man"
I think I'm reasonably open-minded about the whole thing, in reality. Its his right to get pregnant, it doesn't upset me morally or ethically BUUUUT I think Mr. Beattie's choices are actually making it harder for the true transgendered or gender-confused person to gain support and acceptance, KWIM?
And yeah, the blatant media courting is what really bothers me, not because of the story per se, but because those 2 kids will pay the true price...

My only question is this - why was he able to legally change his gender from female to male if he still had all female reproductive organs? Except for the fact that he apparently had a double mastectomy, he's still a woman biologically right? I guess my question is - can any woman go to the courts and legally change their gender to male if they want to live as a male, even though they are biologically still female? Just curious.

Well said, apparently the transgendered community wasn't too supportive of the pregnant man's decision to have a child. Their view is that if you want to be a man, be a man! You can't cross the line whenever you feel it's convenient.
I'm just concerned for the 2 kids that grow up teased in school and wondering if they should be calling their Dad "Mom." I mean, he did give birth to them...

Whether or not the transgendered community is supportive of him or not (and they're all individuals and many have different opinions on this, btw) doesn't make many of the off color and condescending remarks I've heard about this man okay in my book.
My point is NOT that I think seeking out this media attention is okay. I don't agree with that and made it clear. My point is just that I feel that this is one area where people are making really, really slow progress in accepting other people. That does sadden me.
