I love the Wizard of Oz!
Totally off topic but I have never seen Top Gun
My DH couldn’t believe it so we are going to watch it soon

Haha, neither have I. My DH is a HUGE movie buff and is appalled at how few movies I've seen. I can't even tell you how many times I've heard "How have you not seen xxx?!"

That is me. I'm really not a movie fan at all.
I haven't seen Top Gun either.
Never sat through the Godfather in it's entirety either. Only have seen bits and pieces of it when it's on TV
People look at me like I am from another planet for that one.

Forget ANYTHING Star Wars. I'd rather go to the dentist.
Harry Potter - NOPE!
Hunger Games- NOPE!
Any superhero movies like Batman, Spiderman, Avengers... no way

I’ve never seen The Godfather either. Or Rocky.

His favorite to get on me about is the Goonies.

Yeah, I rather go to the dentist and get sweet air rather than watch those movies. I’ve never seen them in entirety.

I like my classics (gone with the wind, etc.), but all those movies look boring to me. I went to see “It” recently and I was bored to tears. I also watched “Titanic” recently and that sucked, too. SO loves “Titanic”, so I thought OK I’ll watch it. I made him sit through “It’s a Wonderful Life” and he loved it. I’m just so picky with my movies.

The Wizard of Oz

A friend has the Oz video where you can see a guy from the set climbing a ladder and hanging himself behind a sheet. I forgot what scene it was, but you can definitely see him swinging in the background.

Snopes said that was false, and there was no hanging. I do know that scene, though.

No. It was a puppet bird in the background. I have seen it a few times and when you really look it doesn't look anything like someone hanging. A bird's neck.

Have seen the movie a lot. I like it a lot, but not one of my favs. Plus, the more you hear about Judy Garland's life the sadder I feel for her.

I don’t like any of those movies but I LOVE the Goonies. It’s an 80s cult classic. I smile just thinking about it (and who doesn’t love the lady from throw momma from the train!!!). And I know as many females like it as males (can’t say the same about the other movies).

Love the movie always have. Just watched it with my 5 year old last week!

I think the main theme and take away for the public (at the time) without getting into all the nitty gritty of it was to be happy with what you have. It was the great depression. People had nothing or very little. The message that there is "no place like home" was something people needed to hear.

Now if you want to talk about CREEPY watch the RETURN TO OZ. It was a movie made in the 80's about Dorothy going back to Oz. I remember a part where there were severed heads all on display is someones house. There were also zombie like guys who roller skated. Did anyone else see this? Am i making this up??? lollll Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Edited to add this link!!!!! It does exist. And Dorothy is the girl from The Craft LOL

YES. The princess used to switch heads like accessories. And Dorothy had a chicken. I used to make my parents rent it from the video store which in retrospect makes me seriously question who I am as a human being and what kind of hot mess parents raised me.

I’m texting DH now to tell him he isn’t the only one with good taste in movies.
