The worst place to propose to someone
I just saw an IHOP commercial and a man proposed at IHOP and I was thinking that IHOP has to be one of the worst places to propose.
Do you know anyone who was proposed to at a horrible place or in a horrible way?

Could've been worse- at least IHOP is a sit-down restaurant. It could've been McDonald's!

Re: The worst place to propose to someone
I think the answer to this question will vary greatly from one person to the next.
What one person thinks is the most wonderful proposal might be the worst to someone else.
For example, my DH proposed on my 30th birthday, in a restaurant, surrounded by my parents, brother, SIL, BFF and her DH. It was the most wonderful proposal ever and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Some people may think that is the worst way to get proposed to ever. Very subjective IMO.

Re: The worst place to propose to someone
I saw someone propose at a Mets game sitting right in front of me. He didn't put her name on the big screen, no annoucement. It wasn't during some pivotal moment in the game, after the game, or during the 7th inning stretch. He just randomly got down on one knee in the middle of the game.
I wouldn't say it's the worst, but I thought it was odd and could have been more planned out.

Re: The worst place to propose to someone
I know someone who was initially proposed to in Taco Bell. Later on it was a proper proposal over a non-Taco Bell dinner. It led to a 10 year marriage so I suppose it's less about how & location than the parties involved.

DH proposed to me in his parents basement. It was just us. *I* loved it! I would have killed him if he embarassed me and did it in public - I hate being the center of attention.

Re: The worst place to propose to someone
I agree with the person who said this answer will vary.
I think it has more to do with the significance of where and when than it does with the actual where and when.
An example - my sister and BIL have been married 17 years they have two beautiful kids and essentially a great life.
My BIL proposed at midnight on NYE - they were in the middle of playing azzhole (yeah, the drinking game ) and had stopped to do the "countdown" right after midnight he proposed...Was it the most romantic? I suppose not, but at 25 he thought so.
But like I said, 17 years later, they're still going strong so whose to say I guess.

Yes. A couple of years ago, I saw a guy propose to his gf at Red Lobster.
An acquaintance was proposed to in Red Lobster and she was pleased as punch. Personally, I wouldn't have liked it but to each their own!
My BIL proposed to my now SIL in bed after she was mad at him all day for staying out with me and my DH all night and winding up at a strip club. He told her "I have something in my pants for you." and she said "I want NOTHING to do with what is in your pants." and then he pulled out the ring. That was a pretty lackluster proposal in my opinion, though it wasn't BIL's fault... his original proposal idea got ruined.

Honestly- my proposal wasn't exactly creative or romantic either. But it didn't bother me. I'm not into that kind of stuff anyway

I think either the delivery room or right after she shows him the prego test... maybe before he goes off to jail?...IHOP doesn't sound so bad now!

I always think to myself that I would want it to be private and intimate but in reality, whenever, wherever...it wouldn't matter at the end of the day.
