Thermometer question
I started temping 2 days ago. Is the thermometer supposed to beep when it's done with the reading? It did yesterday but today it didn't. It was at least 2 minutes that I sat there with the thermometer in my mouth...I eventually just took it out and wrote down what it said. It shouldn't take that long, should it? Strange.

Mine beeps at the beginning when I turn it on and at the end when it is ready for my reading.
If it did beep yesterday then I would assume it would beep again when it was done.
Since I am mostly asleep when I am temping I sometimes don't put it in my mouth correctly. I don't stick it in far enough or hold still enough for it to read or I even forget to put it snug under my tongue.
Play with it and see what it does.

Mine's like FlaCaCaTa's - beeps when you first turn it on and then when it's done taking the reading.
Is your thermometer new? Could be the batteries...

Yes, I just got it 3 days ago. It's the purple CVS thermometer. The same thing happened this morning....a starting beep but then none after the reading. I kept it in a longer time today just to make sure.....like 4 minutes. That had to be more than enough time to get a reading.

it should be. But you might want to call the company's customer service number- they might replace it for you - I really think it should beep.
