Thermometers
We want to buy a thermometer and want to know what everyone is using or what is highly recommended for accuracy. We DO NOT want a rectal one.

And they are actually useful if your little one is constipated!

Re: Thermometers
We have a Vicks digital one that we use rectally. It's the most accurate reading.
I was really scared to take the temp rectally at first, but I brought the thermometer to the first appointment and had the doctor show me. It's really easy. Just put a little vaseline on the tip, lift the legs like you are changing the diaper, and you only put the silver tip in. I was scared I'd put too much in and puncture something, but it's super easy. Plus she doesn't even realize what I'm doing, she just thinks I'm changning her.
And like someone mentioned, it really helps when they are having problems pooping.
ETA: My doctor said that the ear thermometers are not good until they are a few years old since they move so much you can't really get a good read, plus their ear canal is so small it really doesn't fit well in there.
