This has been posted a million times, but if you had attempted a VBAC or know someone who attempted one...
What was their result?
Were they able to do it?

that's so encouraging to know!! I just watched "Business of Being Born" and while I wanted a VBAC before watching it, now I'm pretty much sold on it.

LB-headoverheels did it!!!!!!!! I'm sure she's out doing something wildly exciting for NYE, , but if you search VBAC and her username you'll get her posts; or actually eff that just go to her profile and read her birth story

Yeah, my friend always talks about that movie. She was very adamant about not having a c-section again since she felt hers was not necessary. She had a VBAC with her 2nd and her 3rd delivery was actually a homebirth.

my OB and MW were open to it, but they said I had to be measuring under 8 pounds (I measured 10-8 at 37 weeks, so it was out for me)

I only know 2 people who have done it.
LB (headoverheels) who was successful and then my cousin's SIL who had a uterine rupture, nearly died, and nearly lost her baby. So extreme opposites of the spectrum!

My DS was a VBAC in April of '09. It was an amazing experience & I'm soooo glad I went that route. The recovery was a million times better. It went smoothly & everyone was just fine.

I was just talking to a friend who just had her second child, and she had an unsuccessful VBAC....she was contracting, but not dilated, so instead of letting her labor, they did a c-section, since it seemed inevitable.

Re: This has been posted a million times, but if you had attempted a VBAC or know someone who attempted one...
I know of several successful VBACs, but I also know of someone who attempted it and ended up with a ruptured uterus... it was very nearly a terrible outcome for her and the baby.
In the end, there is risk attached to anything... a scheduled csection is major abdominal surgery! An epidural is sticking a needle into your spine! If you feel like a VBAC is for you and you have a great doctor, go for it!
