this is my first year in a house (tip question)

i have no idea who our mail carrier is - i am not home to receive the mail. so i am not 100% sure it's the same person (i have seen two different ones on the rare Saturday i am home when the mail comes).

i have no idea who picks up our garbage - or there is one, two or three guys doing it.

i would like to leave a tip, i think it's a nice gesture, but in this situation would you? and if so, how much?

for the mailman, i am thinking $20 in a card, but what if there are multiple garbage men?

what to do?? Chat Icon

We've met our mailman so we're tipping him ($20), we'd prob tip him if we didn't meet him too though....

Garbage men - we're not tipping. They've left us notes re: our garbage, left garbage behind, etc.. just a headache with those guys.

We have been living in our house for almost two months. We have never met the garbage men or mail man.

We are planning to tip them something, but not as much. We will probably give them more next year.
