I think it would be stupid if he won. I don't think it is funny at all. What is the point?? To ruin the show? To mock the people who CAN sing? I enjoy watching these shows and it annoys me that people want to make a mockery out of it.

I'm actually rather amused by it as well. I watched last night and DH voted 4 times for Sanjaya.
With all this controversy, I don't know what they'll do. If they "pretend" he got the lowest votes, someone will make sure that it gets looked into somehow, because of all the games the public is playing. I listen to Howard Stern and people are calling in saying they called 160 times, 140 times, whatever. I mean, people who wouldn't even WATCH Idol, nevermind vote, are voting for Idol. Votefortheworst.com is actually TEXTING people Sanjaya's number to call in so they don't have to watch the show! It's crazy!!

I too think its a shame actually. There are people (like myself) who truly enjoy this show. I dont understand why some people would want to try to ruin it. I just dont get it. They have nothing better to do with their lives than to try to ruin something that is fun for someone else? I just think its ridiculous and honestly, I am highly upset about the whole thing.

They also need to change the way things are done on the show.
Someone on another thread about this had suggested they do it like they do it on the Rockstar show- the public votes and they get a bottom 3.
Out of those bottom 3 the judges decide who goes home.
Though in this case it wouldn't even help- cause Sanjaya isn't even in the bottom 3!

i find the whole thing amusing, but not enough to actually watch AI.

We were talking about it during breakfast this morning. They should do it like on Dancing with the stars, where the judges actually have a weight in the vote.

i dont think the show would let that happen. the producers have to take control at some point and say "this kid really sux! get him off the show or we're gonna lose viewers!". i think they're gonna carry him as far as possible cause they know people are watching every week just to see how bad he is and to see if he gets kicked off.

i think the show is screwed either way
i am sure the voting system is flawed
if sanjaya wins, they lose the hardcore legitimate fanbase
they lose talented singers from showing up to auditions
and the people that voted him in will move on to the next project
if sanjaya loses, you have people on stern and O&A saying that they voted for him 200 times. Stern will likely call into question the voting system and an investigation might ensue. Who knows what they will learn? So, if they fix it so he doesn't win, people will find out and it's over.

I think it's just a matter of time before he gets voted out....I think he's being kept around because it's creating controversy.....and it's giving the channel what they like...ratings.....it's all about the numbers.
I haven't seen the last couple of shows. Sanjaya should have been gone long time ago. I'm certain he will voted out..not this week again but probably next.....I just saw a picture online of his hairdo.....what was he thinking? I think every person that gets to be on the show gets exactly what they want...exposure if you are not a winner and in that business, that's the main thing.....sometimes some of them win the first prize yet there are others that do not and become more popular...take Reuben and Clay.....for example.....Image Attachment(s):

I'm all about this Sanjaya thing. People take AI too seriously. Anyone who's on the show and is actually talented has gotten enough publicity that they'll be able to get into the music industry already. The whole point of AI is that it's like a Chose Your Own Adventure book, and America is choosing the funniest ending!

While I agree with you...Fans of AI won't care how he got the boot
but if they find out the voting system is not legit, the show will be effected
i.e. lawsuits from past contestants
lack of interest from singers
