I think in order to make the voting system legit (or as close as possible), they would have to have the technology to allow the voting system to accept only one vote from one phone number. I dont even know if that is possible. However, that would not stop people from voting for the worst - that will NEVER happen.

re: lawsuits from past contenstants - those contracts are so airtight and they run completely in favor of the show, I'm sure they've signed away all possible legal rights.
The contenstants probably couldn't even sue for assault if Ryan Seacrest beat them up on camera with the whole country watching.

in what way? do you mean like they'll change the voting method?
Change for the worse would be:
They would make it like Dancing w/the Stars where the judge's vote carry weight also
Change for the better would be:
They would stop putting people through for silly reasons like the hot girls who can't sing, but look good.
They might decide to stop the requirement that there be 6 girls and 6 guys in the top 12 - something I never agreed with.

i always say that! but then their big sponsor Cingular would not make any money in text messages! its all so political it just boggles the mind!
