Yes it lasts as long as waxing...it is usually done by an Indian Beautician...they take thread and twist it and pull the hair out very quickly using the twisted thread.
Sounds strange but it really does work.

I like it b/c I don't get red and I also get my lip done. When I got waxed I would always break out on my lip.

This happens to me when i get my eyebrows done. I get these itty bitty little pimples where the wax was.
Do most places do this threading thing? And does it hurt worse than waxing??

It's more irritating. The lip does hurt a bit, but it goes quickly.

I pay $40 for lip and eyebrow-- but my girl is no joke... I used to just got to the nail places and do it-- there is such a difference when you are willing to pay a little more.

I usually tweeze, but I recently had them waxed and paid $14. Since I'm a chronic-tweezer, there wasn't much left to wax either! I guess I paid way to much. I had them done at a higher-priced hair salon on LI.

The place I like the best charges $12, which is definitely high. But I've tried two other places, where I paid $7-8, and honestly, the $12 wax was SO much better. So even though it's quite a bit more, it's worth it for me.
Plus, oddly enough, I found that the $12 wax didn't grow in as fast as the cheaper ones, so I did not have to go back so soon. This place also gives complimentary five minute massages and it's a really nice salon. So I look at it as the cost of the whole experience.
