Those who are losing weight or lost weight ?
Can anyone relate to this? I have to ask .. I think about it a lot.
I'm in the process of losing weight. I've lost some so far - enough where I went down a size or two and am excited to keep going.
That being said - sometimes I get frustrated at how I'm like in between some sizes. Like I feel like I lost a lot and am on my way - but then I go clothes shopping and some things fit but maybe not in the arm area, for example. Or a large shirt is too big, but a medium is too tight. It's so aggravating !!!!
I'm kind of in an in-between stage I guess. Like I worked hard (and still am) and trying on clothes can still be a hit or miss.
It's hard to explain but it gets me down.. Like here I think I'm doing so well, but it just reminds me I have a ways to go. I'm the kind of person who likes I'm immediate satisfaction I suppose.
Can anyone relate? Any words of wisdom?
Rationally I know I must be patient and I should be happy with what I have done on my journey .. But did anyone else get in this stage? What did you do? Shall I forgo clothes shopping until another month has passed?

I would gradually treat yourself to some new items.
Or even a piece of jewelry or new lipstick! (I find this cures my shopping need in general ).
As a rule, I think a lot of clothing these days just have really wonky fits and it's not necessarily us or our weight ;).

I agree about the way some clothes are designed. Sometimes I think everything runs so small and a large should really be like a small
I have big boobs too, so that's always an issue.
I'm just going to wait I guess.
I started "shopping in my closet" and whipping out old (thinner me) clothes and recording my progress with those. That may be a safe bet for now.

I feel you! Nothing is more frustrating than losing weight, getting into a smaller size, and then going to some other store (for me this store is Old Navy) and having to go up 2 sizes. WTF. Not fair. I wish clothing had uniform sizing!!
PS - how annoying is it that men can pickup a size 36 in ANY store and if that's what they normally wear it fits them fine?

Re: Those who are losing weight or lost weight ?
I lost weight, almost 30 lbs, and I only went down one size. My hips, with no fat on them, are a 10, it seems. I just tried to remember that my body was smaller, people were noticing, and it didn't matter what the label said.
Also, try and focus on all the new things you can do. I would get discouraged and remember that I used to get winded running a mile, and I was running 5 a day, no problem. Those things make a big difference!

That's what I am doing now. I haven't lost that much yet, but I can't really say if I've gone down a size, because the clothes that I have been wearing are go from 16 to 12, actually with one 18P in there.
Some of the 16s are loose & I bought some new 14s, but I can't say I went down a size, because I was wearing some 14s before anyway & the 16s were never exactly tight.
It's frustrating because you don't necessarily lose evenly throughout your body. I think my face & arms are thinner, which is great, but it's not helping my dresses fit any better.
I bought a top in Loft last week where the medium ALMOST fit--it just clung too much to by belly, so I bought the Large, but it is too long & loose, so it looks sloppy. I returned it & have the L Petite on order. I am hoping that will work.

Re: Those who are losing weight or lost weight ?
Don't let it get you down! For me, I fully admit that vanity and looking good in clothes is a HUGE motivation for me when losing weight. So I completely get your frustration.
I recently lost about 30 lbs (over 6 months, starting last January). I feel like for the first 15 to 20 lbs lost, I just hovered between 2 sizes. Then, the last half, or definitely the last 10 lbs, I dropped about 2 more sizes (for about 3 sizes total). Since I've been at my goal weight and basically maintaining, people have commented I look like I've lost more weight, and I can sometimes where an even smaller size. So I think the weight settled/redistributed a bit, even when I stopped losing lbs. That's how it's always been for me (when I've lost weight in the past).
I think the body is a funny thing. It doesn't always reflect weight loss in a steady manner, but all of a sudden, your body may change more drastically.
Also, I agree that different clothing brands run differently re: sizing, so I wouldn't get too hung up on a number. Even when I am at my goal weight, I still have 3 different closing sizes in my closet b/c I vary up or down a size depending on the brand and style of clothing.
When I am losing weight, I wear a lot of dresses (which are esp. convenient in spring/summer/early fall), because they are more forgiving and flattering as you lose weight. Try wrap dresses or wrap tops. Maybe get some leggings and looser tunics, etc. for fall. That way, you can still get some new things, but you are not buying a lot of tailored clothes that are meant to be fitted if you are in between sizes or that you can't wear when you lose more weight because they will be too big.
Keep up the good work! Sounds like you are making great progress.
