Those who changed bedrooms when they moved DC to a big kid room
So we will be transitioning my son into a big boy (twin) bed this fall and are moving him into a different room. If you switched bedrooms, how did it go? Did they miss their old room, or not care?
DS will be a little over 2 when we switch.

Re: Those who changed bedrooms when they moved DC to a big kid room
We moved my older DS to his big boy room 3 weeks before our new DS came. We had prepped him for about a month beforehand, telling him the baby would be coming. One thing in our favor was his new room was the old office, which he loved to be in. We also let him "help" with cleaning out the office. When we told him we were moving things out to make room for his stuff, he was dragging stuff out! :) I was worried at first, but he never really had an issue with it. He was 22 months when he moved.
We made sure to make his new room fun for him, with lots of cool stuff. My aunt got him a little chair and a bean bag and he loves them (he's not smiling, but he does love it, really ). Image Attachment(s):

When we moved DD, I really thought it was going to be a problem, but she never even looked back. She LOVED her new room.

No problems at all. We moved him about 3 weeks or so (should have been 5-6 weeks but baby came early) before his brother was born. We took over a month prep his big boy room which he helped to paint and all. He loved his new room and never asked about the other. We never mentioned beforehand that the baby would be having his old room and when the baby came he never questioned it at all.

We moved DD about 2 months before I was due to have second DD and she was fine with it. She was 17 months at the time.

Same here.
We also procrastinated and only got him in 2 days before his sister arrived (in our defense she was early ).
It was smooth as could be. He LOVES being in a bed, never seemed to miss the crib or the nursery. We put a gate on the door so if he is up he can play in the room.
