Those who delivered at Stony Brook
Sorry for asking all these questions regarding my sister... I KEEP telling her that she needs to join LIF that she will get all the answers that she needs but she is lazy..
Anyway, she is delivering at Stony Brook and wants to know if DHs are allowed to sleepover.

yes, they can stay. My DH stayed both nights and said he was very comfortable! He certainly slept more than i did...

Yes, DH stood with me the whole time I was there. The pull out chair they have is super uncomfortable but DH wanted to be there because DS was in the NICU.

Yes. DH stayed the second night of my induction and the first two nights after my C-section. Soooooooo happy he did!!!

Yes DH stayed with me..I was in alot of pain from my C-section and he was really the one who took care of DD while I wasnt able to.

yes, they can stay but be sure to tell her that they are NOT allowed to use the shower or bathroom in the rooms, because it is shared with the back-to-back room.
My DH had to go home for showers and use a different bathroom.

I had my own private room and bathroom. I dont remember seeing any rooms sharing a bathroom...Except in Labor and delivery of course...They redid the whole maternity floor..its really nice. Labor and delivery is next to be changed but they are still working on it.

Yes, it's all private bathrooms now once you deliver and are moved to the maternity wing.

not anymore - all the rooms have private bathrooms.

when were you last there? I was there in 2008 and had a private room (which I LOVED) and I never saw the woman I shared a bathroom with (it was between our rooms I guess, connected by a door) and the nurses and all told my DH he couldn't use it. It was after my L&D...that would be great if things changed!!!!!
I never wanted my DH to leave my side...I hate hospitals.

They opened the new wing in 2009. It's gorgeous!

Two and a; half years ago when I had DS, DH stayed with me the first night and my mom stayed with me the second night.

yes but the chairs there aren't that comfy. I sent mine home since i could get a better sleep without him there and then he could be rested for when we got home and i wanted to rest.
