Those who have done IVF either once or multiple times
Last year I had my first IVF cycle. After the retrieval I was told they retrieved 17 mature eggs and 4 fertilized. I went in for a day 3 transfer and they transferred 1 healthy embryo. It resulted in my DD I figured the other three had been frozen. Last week I called to find out about or annual storage fee because we moved and didn't want to miss a payment or anything. I found out this morning that none of my 3 remaining embryos made it to freeze. Is it common not to be informed about things like this? I was surprised!

From both clinics, I received a letter informing me if any were able to be frozen. The second clinic, I actually called up to verify before the letter arrived.

Wow, I did Ivf twice and didn't have anything to freeze either time but they also called me the day of the decision to tell me. I also received a letter a few weeks later

I was told at my 5dt how many were left and then we decided how many to transfer with the rest being frozen.

They should notify you. When you signed your embryo consents, did they discuss it with you? What RE is this?

For us, none made it to freeze. They basically told us that we'd receive a letter if any were frozen, so not hearing anything, you can assume that nothing made it to freeze.

I went to LI IVF Melville also - they told me how many were frozen.
That's weird that they didn't tell you.

I never received anything in writing but was told how many went to freeze- and what ones didnt make it. I did two IVF cycles prior to a surgery I had to have so whatever fertilized was to be frozen. When I requested my records- i switched practices, I saw in the records that I have 5 frozen.

Sorry to hear that. For IVF 1 we transferred 2 and none were good enough to freeze. I asked if any made it to freeze when I went in to my RE for an appointment. With IVF #2 we had more fertilize and many still looking decent on day 5. We transferred 2 on day 5. One was able to freeze on day 5. Another one was able to be frozen on day 6. So we have 2 frozen and will be transferring both next week. The lab called me and left a message on my voicemail saying how many were able to freeze. I then called the lab back to ask what happened to the other ones they were watching. Basically the other ones were too slow on day 6 and they wouldn't freeze them bc they didn't have good potential to result in a pregnancy.

I went to LI IVF which at time was still East Coast. They also told me if I had any which I didnt. I would surely have an issue with the place you are going with.
