those who sent children to daycare<6 months old

Do you remember how long it took for your DC to adjust to take naps? I just went back to work on Monday. DS is almost 4 months old and has not napped longer than 30 minutes all week. So needless to say we come home and he is exhausted and miserable. I have an older DS So I know he will adjust eventually but this week is very hard.. Thanks for reading..Chat Icon

I'm really no help here, DD has been in daycare since she's about 5 months, she's now almost 10 months and most days still only takes 2, 30 minute naps. Its rare for her to take an hour nap at daycare. She's too nosy and needs to know whats going on all the time!!!

DS started around 3.5 months and I think he is just starting to adjust at 5 months but he's still not very consistent.

DS was the same way. He would take very short naps (sometimes only 20 minutes) and be so exhausted at night. I think he just gets so excited he wants to be up and not miss anything. Also, I think I wasn't sending enough milk for him in the beginning (he is breastfed and I wasn't sure of the amounts). He is now taking 3 x 7 oz bottles and that seems to keep him happy enough to nap.

He still doesn't take the longest naps and is more like a cat napper but I do think he gets enough sleep these days.
