It's in the cabinet. On a special shelf that pulls out and up, and locks into place so that I can use it and never have to lift it off the shelf it's on. When I am done using it, I release the lock, it drops back down and into the cabinet.

have mine on our counter with a cover on it. got the cover at a kitchen outlet; black quilted canvas one that was made for it.

We keep ours out. I took one of those decorative kitchen towels and sewed a cover for it lol.
