Mine is fake...but it looks so real.
Its so much easier to maintain, no mess, no watering.
We had a real tree one year and never again

Had real for 12 years and we decided to buy fake and I LOVE it. Much easier to put up and down, no fighting with lights and we will have it for many many years.

Fake. We bought a very realistic one in Fortunoff last year. Very realistic needles.
Re real trees, I am not a fan of chopping down a tree (a critter's home) just to get rid of it a month later. I also would be afraid of having some critter appear in my living room one day.
I also would be concerned in regards to pets to have a tree constantly dropping needles. I would worry about a fire hazard in addition. And I also hate the pine smell. (DId I give enough reasons, lol?)

I always had real trees growing up but then last year after christmas I was in Fortunoff and they had a tree that looked jsut like a real tree (with pine-needle looking branches and not the green pipe cleaner looking ones) and it was completely reasonable so we got it and moved with it and this is the first year it's up. I love it so far! The lights were already on it which takes such a huge headache out of the process.
So far, the vote is fake for me!

My mom switched to fake after I got married and I torture her about it. I just feel more in the spirit with a real tree. Totally absurb, I'm aware

Artificial here!
I love that I can have it up longer....
The mess & watering of a real tree doesn't bother me...probably because I never had one. Never wanted one. Oddly enough I love the look of most artificial trees more.

Fake--I love the fact that it is prelit and we can put it up whenever we want and not have to worry about it drying out/watering etc. Our tree looks real, it was the best investment we made!!

We went fake for the first time this year. In fact, so did my Dad. DH didn't want to deal witht he mess and watering it, so we found a great deal on a fakie and jumped on it. It's actually kind of nice knowing we'll just have to break it down and put it away for next year. Plus, it's up already! No waiting so it lasts through Xmas.
