Those with nanny/sitter in their home - do you pay for their cell phone?
With the weather being nicer, our sitter has been taking the LOs for longer walks to parks further away from home. I'm OK with this but want her to use her cell to touch base with us if she needs anything (I WAH so sometimes I'll pick them up at library or the park).
She's in her 50s and doesn't really use cell phones and I don't want to use up all her minutes just so she can check in with me, KWIM?
I'm thinking of getting her a TracPhone that we'll keep in the diaper bag/stroller for any emergencies. Am I crazy?

if she doesn't have a cell phone, then yes, i would get her one of the pre-paid ones to check in w/ me

My nanny has her own phone, so I do not pay for it.

Agreed. Our nanny has her own cell with an unlimited plan and we do not pay for any of it.

We do not pay for her phone. I hope she has unlimited text because that is how we communicate :)

If you would like, you could get a family plan with an extra line. Have her take this phone when she's with your kids. Price it out: for a regular phone, it may not cost much at all.
