thoughts about the MTA getting a bail out
I read they are looking for additional money for a bail out. My opinion before they received any bail out they should have been forced to show their books. Several years ago NJ past GOV tried to force them to no avail. They increase fare rates but never have show their books to prove there is a need.
It has been shown in the past they have a work force /union that has had an inappropriate large number of workers claiming over time and a large number of workers claiming to be on disability and being paid.
There seems to be a lot of fraud with the MTA.
I use to ride the trains until 2017, my travels for the most part went smooth but the cost even off peak was insane.
And if you had to buy a ticket while on the train cost extra.

I agree. They should have to show their books, but what will it change? I don’t think the outcome will change. They are going to get a bailout if they need it regardless. I’m not crazy about but if they don’t get the bailout the alternative is going to be crazy rates, everyone driving into the city which will be insane. I just don’t know what other option there is ??

Re: thoughts about the MTA getting a bail out
Everyone else is getting a bail out. I’m sure ridership is down 70+ percent but they have to keep up subways and trains for essential workers.
There is no NYC without mass transit so while I agree they should be transparent, there’s really no other choice.
Maybe trump should show his taxes and not allow his hotel to take a bailout!

They reported ridership is down about 90%.
And I know the buses aren't taking a fare. They aren't allowing anyone to enter in the front door. Only the back. Which means you can't pay. So the only fare they are collecting are on the trains.
