Was going to post the same, glad somebody beat me to it. The change monkey can go take a long walk off a short pier for all I care.

It's amazing that for the first african american president, we now have some of the worst race relations ever.

Calling an African American person a monkey is horrific, offensive and everyone's favorite word: RACIST. Seriously, you could have picked 348723987237 derrogatory terms without going there.

Also, I think racial tensions being as charged as they are is a sign of improvement. When people talk about how there was none of this 20 years ago, they don't understand that that was not because things were better. They may have been 'better' for me as a white person, but they were absolutely not better for people of color. Change doesn't come about quietly, it comes with noise and disruption of the status quo. Pick any point in history when things got better for any group and you'll see it was acheived through protest, fight and often times violence.

That people of color are feeling strong enough to organize, speak out and yes, even riot is a sign that things are improving. As a group, they wouldn't be able to stand up if they were still afraid of being lynched for vocalizing their opinions.

I like Obama - can you tell? I'll miss him.

You edited her quote to cut out the disgusting part.. I suspect she wasn't responding to you at all. Maybe you should relax a smidge and tone down your liberal hating just a drop? This site has never been mostly liberal. There's always been pretty close to a 50-50 split.

You're very angry this morning. Did Obama pee in your cheerios?

And AGAIN... I believe Pumpkin was referring to me taking AVE's bait when he made his hateful and racist remark.

This has nothing to do with you... yes, I quoted him quoting you, but frankly, I'm not at all bothered by your hatred of Obama. I am, however, bothered by the racist CRAP that Ave is spewing by calling him a monkey. As far as I'm concerned, that translates to: he can be the second coming of Jesus but he's black so I must hate him.

Nothing to do with you JP826. Nothing to do with you at all.

I'm totally relaxed - More than a smidge, thank you.

Btw... Where do you see in my post that I'm "hating" on liberals. You assume I hate them because my opinion differs from theirs?

This site IS mostly liberal. Every political post lately is all about bashing Trump.

I actually had a bagel this morning, so no, Obama did not pee in my Cheerios. I'm not angry today either, actually.

I will give him the utmost respect for being the first african american president. However, I am very happy his presidency has come to an end.

His presidency affected myself and my family greatly.

I got laid off.
My healthcare went from fabulous to terrible. Having to pay thousands out of pocket is unacceptable.
I am heavily taxed. The sequester changed our paycheck drastically.
Race relations are beyond tense.
The immigration and lack of border control is a joke.
The mass shootings since he took office.

I could go on and on. So I am happy to see him and his family go. Buh bye!

how is it obamas fault that you got laid off and how is it his fault with the mass shootings?

I am not trying to be snarky I just have no idea how this would be his fault

I know quite a few Republicans who hate Trump.. plenty of conservatives who hate Trump. If you think that you have to be a liberal to hate him you need to do a little research. And do people really think Trump is conservative? Chat Icon

And fwiw I'm not realy a liberal. There are more than two sides to politics.

And when you say things like "why bc I posted a different opinion on a mostly liberal site" that's liberal hate. Frankly, the minute anyone starts throwing around the word liberal it's intended to be derrogatory. You can argue with me all you want, but don't pretend it's a compliment.

It is not his fault per se but something that happened during his Presidency. Just one of the first things that happened to me in 2009 that led to the domino effect of shitt that was to come.

So OB came from Chicago with the TIGHTEST gun control and there are THOUSANDS of shootings there. And ALL the shootings that occurred since then. I blame him and local politicians for different things. Stop and Frisk elminated in NYC. Shootings and crime skyrocketed. We all know that is DiBlasio. I blame Obama because gun control has been his Agenda and honestly, I don't see control- they need to go after the criminals- not the good people.

Fair enough. I've almost NEVER seen anyone throw around the word 'liberal' without it intended as an insult and I automatically added your use to that pile. Looking back, I can see that I jumped the gun.

Obama is not responsoble for the epic freakin disaster that is DiBlasio.. come on! I can't staaaaannnndddd DiBlasio, I think he's literally The.Worst. He's not Obama's responsibility.

In fact, I think that just lends support to the idea that our local elections are considerably more important for us to be aware of and participate in than the presidential elections.

And I have ideas about why Chicago's gun laws are ineffective, but not because of it's strict regulation. More like, the surrounding states don't have nearly as strict gun laws and it's pretty easy to bring guns in. But that's another debate for another thread.

My first friend in the 80's was a black girl named Carla. She was my best friend. I feel like back in the 80's and 90's, there was much more togetherness. I had a teacher named Mrs. Petersen that I adored that was a black woman. My dad gave her a clock since she said she loved antique coockoo clocks. (My dad is an antique dealer on the side) I look back to In Living Color, Family Matters, and Hanging With Mr Cooper- hell even Fresh Prince. I feel like we embraced the culture and race. The shitt that happened in the 60's brought everyone together. Now since Obama came in, it has further divided us. I feel like he started a movement. I will blame that on him. Sure, black people may feel "powerful" but they have to take it down a notch and not hurt cops and innocent people in the process.

I'm curious also.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with someone once. At Wendy's they went from giving two salad dressings with a large salad, down to one. The person said it's Obama's fault. And was dead serious. Blamed it on some healthy eating initiative. Chat Icon

Just addressing the Stop and Frisk vs crime in NYC...

The NYPD weighed in on stop-and-frisk during the debate and said stops are down 97 percent since 2011. As stops declined, so did crime, which disputes Trump's claim.

New York City saw a significant drop in major crimes in the first quarter of 2016 with the fewest murders and shootings in its recorded history, Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) announced during a Monday press conference.

“We are the safest big city in America. This quarter’s statistics prove it once again,” de Blasio said.

In the first three months of the year, New York City saw a 21 percent drop in murders compared with the same period last year, a statistic de Blasio called “extraordinary.” The city also saw a 14 percent decrease in shootings compared with those months in 2015.

No, it's called the Dream Act and it provided a path to citizenship for children born in the United States and their parents. That is a big distinction to promising all illegals citizenship.

I agree...Didn't he promise all the illegals...legal citizenship?? (Not that I agree with that).

No, it's called the Dream Act and it provided a path to citizenship for children born in the United States and their parents. That is a big distinction to promising all illegals citizenship.

I'm curious also.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with someone once. At Wendy's they went from giving two salad dressings with a large salad, down to one. The person said it's Obama's fault. And was dead serious. Blamed it on some healthy eating initiative. Chat Icon

LOL, healthy eating is in NYC- didn't Bloomberg start that. Who cares about salad dressing. I am talking about important things. Not directing this at you but someone complaining about salad dressing is pretty hysterical. It's like when Snookie said McCain wouldn't propose a tax on tanning because he's pale and Obama did b/c he's black. Chat Icon
