Tipping Mailman and Sanitation...
How much is a good tip and how do you go about giving it to them?
This is the 2nd holiday season in our house...last year we moved in right before Christmas and totally forgot to tip so I want to make sure to remember this year.

We give $100 for the truck. We've had a lot of stuff we threw out that wasn't just stuff in our trash bins.

We give the mailmen $20. We put it in a card and leave it in the mailbox with the flag up.
The garbagemen we give $20 also and we try to track them down around christmas but they come at all different times.

Garbage men - $100. DH leaves right after them so he actually ran out this morning to give it to them.
Mailman - $40- we get tons of mail.

I just saw on the news the other day that mail carriers aren't allowed to accept cash gifts.

I usually see the mailman and am able to give him a card with $20 in it but I always miss the garbage men. they sometimes come at 6am sometimes at 12pm...Do you just wait for them and run out to give it to them?
