Tips for travelling with a 4 month old
We will be taking our son to met his GP and will have to travel on a plane for about 3 hours. Does anyone have any tips for travelling with a 4 month old on a plane? The doctor recommends having something to drink on take off and landing b/c of the pressure other than that he states that DS will probably sleep for the duration of the flight. Has anyone experienced this and do u have any advice.
We r going to Jamaica does anyone have any tips for "must haves" that we should take.
TIA

Re: Tips for travelling with a 4 month old
We have taken 5 roundtrip flights with DD. At 11 weeks, 5 months, 6 months, 7 months, and she is 10 1/2 months now. The first four trips were similar - pacifier or bottle during take-off and landing and she slept the rest of the flight. This last trip, at 10 1/2 months, was harder - she wouldn't sleep and wanted to play and move around the entire time!
We brought the Maclaren Easy Traveller stroller (frame that car seat snaps into) through security and checked it at the gate. At the gate we'd ask if the flight was full, it usually wasn't so we'd take our Graco snugride on and leave DD in it. Once it was full and we checked the car seat at gate also.

Re: Tips for travelling with a 4 month old
Your dr. gave great advice. I didn't travel at 4 months but at 6 months with no problems. My son slept most of the trip which was 5 hours. Do you have a seat for him? If not you might want to try a baby bjorn or some sort of infant carrier. Def have an extra set or two of clothes for baby and toys with a tether. Of course plenty of diapers and wipes.
I would stick to what you normally do with him. I guess what you take depends on where you are staying.

We took DS to FLA at 4 months. It was cake. He slept most of the time. Gave him a bottle on take off and landing.
