tmi question - has anyone looked into or has taken an enema before birth?
An OB that a friend of mine goes to has mentioned that she took an enema with her last delivery so now I'm wondering that it can't be that bad to do if an OB did it.
But when do you take it? When you start feeling your first contractions? When your water breaks? Would love to hear any experiences.

I did it with DD...It was done at the hospital after I had started to go into labor. I dont remember the details, but I think it was right before I had the epidural.
It wasnt that bad at all and I recommend it...while you are pushing you dont want to have to worry about pooping too! I know, it's gross, but...

Oh ok, so you ask for it at the hospital then. I just can't imagine jumping out of bed, running to the bathroom at the hospital so I was hoping to do it at home- lol

honestly, do not stress poop! the nurses even tell you during pushing that if you arent pooping, you arent doing it right it is 100% expected. its normal.

my doc told me to have castor oil towards my due date. it really didn't have any effect on me...but i've heard it could move things along.
