TMI question about c-section recovery
I ended up with a c-section on the 12th. For the past 2 days, I've had horrible sharp pains on my right side, stomach and rectal area. Sometimes I'm in so much pain I can barely walk. I assume they're all related to gas pains. Although I've been able to go to the bathroom a few times since the c-section, I'm nowhere near regular yet. Sorry for the TMI, but when I've been able to go to the bathroom over the past 2 days, it has been diarrhea. I've been taking Colace twice per day since the c-section.
I'm wondering whether anyone had a similar experience. Did you take anything other than Colace? How long did it take until you were back to normal?

Re: TMI question about c-section recovery
About two-three weeks after the c-section I remember being in such horrible pain - sharp shooting pains! It was definately gas - and I drank alot of mint tea (I think it was mint -- it was the kind they gave it out in the hospital to help with the gas) - and took GasX pills. It will go away but honestly, I felt the pains for about two weeks. It was torture!

Re: TMI question about c-section recovery
I also had horrible pain like that related to gas. I was also on colace twice a day and began to have diarrhea. I cut the colace down to once in the morning and it helped a bit, but the gas pain lasted about 2 weeks.

Re: TMI question about c-section recovery
The pain will subside...if they do persist..please contact your OB..better to be safe than sorry...Gas pain is the worse...I wouldn't take colace so much..once a day should be good..it will so go back to normal...body is getting used to being without your baby inside...
