TOBAY beach pass versus Empire Pass?
I've gotten an empire pass for the past few years to go to Jones Beach but I'm considering switching it up this year for a TOBAY beach pass. I've actually never been to Tobay (Grew up near LB). Should I bother? I don't have kids, its just DH and I.
TIA!

Love Tobay, go there all the time. There is a the beach side and the bay (marina) side.
They have 2 places to eat too that are really cute and are outdoor. There is a concession stand on the marina side as well.
I know you do not have kids, but they have a cute water spray area for kids if you have a niece or nephew.
Always a good crowd of people.

Re: TOBAY beach pass versus Empire Pass?
i like TOBAY so much better than Jones - so if you are just choosing based on beach I would get the TOBAY pass. But the empire pass gives you access to the other state parks - do you go to those at all? If so then you might be better off with empire.

Re: TOBAY beach pass versus Empire Pass?
We get both. Because we go to Caumsett for bike riding and Planting Fields often, so we have the Empire Pass.
The beach pass because for the few times we do go, it works out cheaper than paying each time. You need to be a resident of the Town of OB to get one.

We lived at Tobay when we were living in TOB. It's way better than Jones.
I didn't know you could get a pass for weekends if you weren't a resident? Hmmm...I'm going to have to look into this!

Re: TOBAY beach pass versus Empire Pass?
I am a resident of TOB so that's why I was thinking it might be a bit easier.
Thanks for the input everyone!! Looks like Tobay might be the way to go. We don't really use our Empire pass for anything but Jones Beach- watch this year we'll want to go somewhere else and kick ourselves for not having the pass.

I recall buying a season pass/sticker for Tobay so we didn't have to deal with the lines on weekends, but back then (12 plus years ago) only TOB residents were able to use the beach on weekends.
