Toddler moms - where do your kids sleep when on vacation (in hotel)

DS will be 2 this summer, and we hope to go on a few small trips this summer.

When staying in hotels, where do your kids sleep? He's never slept in our bed, and I'm pretty sure he'll be too big for the pack and play by then.

Do you only stay at hotels that offer cribs?
Should we invest in one of those inflatable toddler beds?
Should I just expect to have sleepless nights with DS in our bed?

Any experience or suggestions is welcome!

We get a king sized bed and put DS in the middle or we get a room with 2 double beds and one of us sleeps with him till he falls asleep and then we build a "pillow fortress" around him.

We usually get a room with double beds and she sleeps in one and we sleep in the other

DS sleeps with us in the bed. The one good of co-sleeping is convenience when we travel.

One Step Ahead sells inflatable bed rails. Maybe those would work?

Mine still sleep in the PNP. My friend had her girls sleep in the inflatable beds from One Step Ahead

We brought along a crib mattress from home and put it on the floor of the hotel room.

DS slept in a pack and play in hotels until he went into a bed in our house.

He was fine and DS is a big boy, at 2yo he was 40lbs and 37 inches I believe and he fit in the hotel PNP.

Now we get a double room and he sleeps in the bed with pillows all around him.

ETA: if you dont co sleep ever at home I would be leery of doing it on vacation.
First, I have friends who never did it until vacation and then had a horrible time when they got home with their DC wanting to sleep with them.
Also DS never cosleeps and the few times we have taken him into our bed for whatever reason has been a nightmare, him tossing and turning, talking to us, basically minimal sleeping was going on!

Thank you for all of the responses.

I was looking through the One Step Ahead catalog last night, which was why I thought of this conundrum.

And yes, since DS has never slept in our bed, I'm worried about creating a monster when we get home and he's back in his crib.

At least I have options! Thanks everyone!

my son will be 3 in june and he still sleeps in a PNP.

Otherwise if i know the hotel has cribs, we ask for that.

Just call your hotels and see what they have first.

when we went to Aruba our room had a (pull out) couch...but we didn't make it into a bed...we took the back pillows off and put them on the floor right next to the couch and then set the couch up like a bed with sheets and pillow,...she slept there 7 nights no problems!!!


but when we go to my parents apt out east in the summer we use My Cot Portable Travel Bed She slept on this every weekend last summer (she was 3 yrs old) and we are planning on using that again this summer! She loved it! We put a sleeping bag on top for extra cushion! The best part is that it folds up in 2 seconds and to the size of a beach umbrella!
