It DEFINITELY seems like some people get unnecessarily defensive about Suri. JMO Chat Icon

Because people aren't commenting on a dress choice, or a haircut, or a bad tan, like most of the Celebrity Board comments...they're judging and commenting on parenting choices. And that's personal. I take offense to it and it bothers me, and I'll be the first to say it.
She's a little girl who loves to play dress up. And she looks adorable doing it. It's not hurting anyone, so who cares?

Im sorry but take offence to this but: the parents need to get over it.

This is a board where someone commented on Miley's saggy boobs. So yes people will comment on Suri and any other thing thats posted on here.

Just like ppl comment on shiloh and her ridiculous outfits, its never gonna change.

I'm sorry....did you just tell me I need to get over it? Who are you to tell me what I need to do?
Someone made a comment about people getting defensive and I tried to explain nicely why it was offensive to me, at least (and I'm guessing others as well).
Just as you are allowed to make your comments about a young girl's saggy boobs, I'm allowed to be offended by those comments. And I'm also allowed to tell you when I'm offended...even on the Celebrity Board.

umm yea I wasnt the one that made the saggy boob comment and neither do I care. I was just showing exmaples of how this board is and we will judge any of thoe pics that are posted. and yes I did tell the parents to get over the fact that people are talking about Suri. No one said you cant post your opinions but dont be shocked when people judge CELEB parents. So i stand by ppl need to get over it, its a firggin gossip board.

Take it how you want, i think its getting ridiculous with all the moms up in arms saying they take offense to someone saying a little girl needs to wear a coat or not wear heels. No one is talking about you as a mom, so yes get over it.

I was going to post a response.....but you're really not worth it to me. Have a great night! Enjoy tearing other people down to make yourself feel better, and passing judgment in the name of gossip.

I disagree with you and I really don't understand why you are offended. First of all, they are celebrities with their pictures posted on a celebrity board- that makes them fair game for people to comment on what they see. Parenting choices may be personal, but not all parenting choices are right or good for the child- (Although the other issues you said were ok to comment on are also all personal choices, ie. a hairstyle, so I'm confused why just parenting choices aren't ok with you?).

What I see is a three year old toddler who is outside without a coat where others are wearing winter coats and scarfs, wearing dress up clothing and high heels, rings and earrings, all while eating a chocolate bar. I am a parent too, and I am also a child psychologist, so I feel I can say - based on these pictures, it really seems like they as parents are failing to set appropriate limits for their child.

I am glad another parent feels this way and is willing to admit it. I'm sorry to bring this issue back up, but I just saw now that my comment was responded to.....

I have not seen a picture in weeks with Suri wearing what appears to be age appropriate clothing (or shoes). And yesterday she was wearing a sleeveless summer dress when EVERYONE in the pic was wearing heavy winter coats.

We judge Lindsay Lohan's parents all the time - no one gets up in arms about that!

I get that maybe Katie and Tom are making choices that you agree with and so when someone says something negative you take it personally, but there really is no need to jump on and criticize someone's comment about what Suri is wearing. The comment was specifically about Suri apparently always playing dress up - no mention was made about her parents and I honestly did not take the comment to be a criticism of their parenting at all.

I wanted to wear heels as a little girl too, and my mother told me NO. I was too young and that was for older girls/women. I also wanted to play with matches and lighters, I didn't want a curfew, and I didn't want to go to school. Yes, these are extreme comparisons, but the fact is that parenting is about choices and setting limits, and I'm getting tired of hearing that a non-parent doesn't understand the concept of "picking your battles". I do. I threw many a tantrum to test my parents limits, and sometimes I won, but when it was important to them, I ultimately lost. And I know that it may be difficult, but it is not impossible to make a small child wear a coat in the winter, or not allow her to constantly wear heels that are bad for her small, developing body, not to mention hazardous to be walking around in on a regular basis. As far as the dress up, I don't care if she wears a Cinderella dress until she turns 18, as long as she's got a coat on over it in the winter.

You may not feel that issues are battles worth fighting. But please don't tell me that I'm wrong to feel differently.

I'm sorry but I find it very hard to believe that you've never made one negative, mean comment that passed judgment on a celebrity on this board. Why is it ok to insult someone because they made a comment about something that you personally don't agree with?
