Took Maddie to emergency vet at 3AM
She pretty much had been coughing/bringing up fluid since late Thursday PM and in addition to no one getting any sleep, what she was throwing up had changed and nothing she ate was staying down.
Anyway, long story short, x-rays, blood work were fine and other than bad kennel cough and probably ulcers from irritation, all is well ... as well as the circumstances.
We were given antibiotics, a strong cough suppressant/sedative and another pill to help soothe the ulcers.
We ALL slept for four whole hours when we got back home around 5:30AM and she's only coughed/thrown up maybe 2-3 times and nothing more than some fluid/mucous.
The trip & expense was definitely worth peace of mind ruling out anything more severe.
