total random question about valentines day b/c i was pondering it today
ive had so many convos in the past week with friends, coworkers, family, friends of friends etc about what their plans are for valentines day... and i keep hearing over and over "oh, valentines day isnt really a huge deal with us...we dont make a big deal and will probably just go to dinner or something"
now, DH and i totally fall into this category & i dont know why i started thinking about this today, but i was wondering if there were any couples out there who go all out with their DH/SO/BF/GF and do valentines day up into a huge romanic night..... i think its cute if there are people that really do it up!

Nope, we've never done anything, no flowers, no dinners out. We do get each other a card.  And now that we have kids, we get them a small box of chocolates.

We don't usually do anything since my birthday is the week after. Sometimes we will order a pizza, but thats about it. How romantic, right?

i wish! but no. we don't do anything big. we used to do a prix fixe dinner thing when we dated but it just wasn't worth it. i cooked a fancy dinner for him once. and other than that we go to eat another night when it's cheaper, he gets me flowers and i get him a small gift. this year i asked him to bake me a cake instead of flowers. he has NEVER baked so i thought it would be cute if he did.

We keep it low key. We got engaged on V-day in 2003, and our anniversary is 2/12.. so we normally make it a combo dinner. We also just do candy and a card.

We don't exactly go all out but we DO make it special. Even if we order in, I will decorate and set up candles. DH will get me flowers. . . I think we make it special
I would love to go out to eat but I hate how some restaurants put you right next to other people and have limited menus etc.

It's not huge, but we do go to a nicer restaurant than usual. And we do cards, chocolates, flowers, etc.

Well I wouldn't say we go CRAZY...but we always do dinner and have a romantic night.
DH always gets me flowers and a nice present.
I don't usually buy him a big gift--but always get him some stuff.
When we first met VDay was the next week--so in a way we kind of associate our relationship WITH Vday, thinking about it maybe that is why we pay more attention to it then we might otherwise, who knows lol

Nah, we don't do anything. A few times I've gotten flowers at work or something and some jewelry or whatever, but I always tell him not to waste his money. He finally started listening. It's just lame to me.
However, we do make a big deal out of it for our daughter. My dad still sends me a card and a gift, and to me, that's the best thing

We used to get each other gifts but teh last few years we have just gone out to dinner, usually the weekend before to avoid the crowd and stupid prix fixe menus.

we are going to tellers.
we went there last year too.
we always say "lets try someplace different" but end up loving it so much that we don't want to! lol.
i usually get roses and we exchange cards. nothing crazy but we do acknowledge it.
we don't go ON the day to dinner - we are going four days before.

Okay, I put it was huge, but it's not. It's more than just dinner, but not huge. There was no poll option for that, though! 
I was single all through HS, and I always felt so bad that I couldn't really enjoy Valentines day. I would deny it and celebrate St. Patty's day instead. No lie, I would wear green to school and I would not acknowledge V-day at all.
So now that I have someone to celebrate with, we try to make a little deal about it. Dinner, but also cutesy presents, flowers, etc. I love all that stuff, and DH knows it. This year I got him a wireless headset for his xbox 360. So I try to make it special for him too.

My DH calls it a Hallmark holiday and hates it.
Plus he hates anything to do with romance!
But he does still buy me flowers, chocolates and a card- probably out of obligation but i'll take it!
He gets VERY mad at me though if I get him anything- says its a waste of money!

Last yr we went out to eat ,and when we came home ,I went into my room to change ,and on my bed was a 5ft teddy bear holding a card and chocolates, he also had the lava lamp on
