Town of Huntington residents
Does the town give you recycling bins (for glass/cans, etc) or do you have to use your own and just put the town recycling sticker on it?
I've been using my own can with the recycling sticker on it but someone said to me that the town gives you a can.

16 years ago the town told me they don't give them out anymore. We just bought blue rubbermaid garbage pail & put the sticker on it which actually is good because if we miss putting it out it usually is ok because it doesnt fill up that fast.

we were not given cans when we moved here last summer. we did go to the town and got the stickers though. but even then, i don't think that's all that necessary if you don't want to make the trip. recycling days are not the same as garbage days so it's kind of obvious that it's your recylcing and you're not throwing out the can or bin.

Yeah the stickers aren't necessary. We use a milk crate for cans and a laundry basket for papers.

We had one from the town. But that was like a million years ago...I dont know where we got it though....with that said....my neighbor also worked for the highway department so we might have gotten it from him...

I've lived in the Town of Huntington for almost my whole life. We were never issued a particular can. You can pick up the recycling stickers at your local library too (but as others have said, it's not necessary).
