Toys We Hate
Just wanted to vent about the crappy quality of toys these days. I spent a good part of Xmas day putting together toys, and dropped a few too many f-bombs a person should be dropping on Christmas day.
So I wanted to ask what crappy toys you have come across, so I could avoid them for future birthdays and Christmases.
A few of mine:
1. Barbie pop-up camper van...HATE IT. I'm not even done putting it together, and the back bumper is already cracked, affecting the way the back door closes. And the part that pops up sucks and doesn't work well. Maybe I got a defective one?
2. FurReal Friends Bootsie...doesn't shut up ever and was hissing at me all day. The thing actually kind of scares me to be honest with you.
3. Play Doh Ice Cream Castle...I'm not a huge play doh fan to begin with, but this thing is IMPOSSIBLE to take apart when you're done using it.

Play Doh. DD LOVES it, so I keep buying it. But i always regret it when I'm on my hands and knees picking up tiny, dried up pieces of it.

I was able to get the doll to stay on when i velcroed the seat belt tightly. We didn't discover the seat belt right away because it was wrapped around the bottom of the seat but once we started using it things got a little bit better. Not great but better

DD got soft play doh. I've never heard of it before but it was another one of MIL genius ideas for a gift. It was like leaving chocolate out in a hot day. Totally stuck to the bag and gooey.
Shouldn't even be in stores!

I used it but she still seems to tip over. I don't understand it. We have the ice cream truck now too and dd gets frustrated when the dolls just cant sit properly.... I wonder if AG dolls have similar issues. If not, they are probably worth the price tag LOL

We don't have the scooter or ice cream truck, but we have a "Deluxe" OG doll and an AG doll. Our AG doll doesn't sit in her chair very well because her legs don't stay in position. Our OG doll sits well. The "deluxe" OG are supposed to be more poseable than regular OG, but we only have the one kind, so I don't know the difference.

We don't have the scooter or ice cream truck, but we have a "Deluxe" OG doll and an AG doll. Our AG doll doesn't sit in her chair very well because her legs don't stay in position. Our OG doll sits well. The "deluxe" OG are supposed to be more poseable than regular OG, but we only have the one kind, so I don't know the difference.
Ooh I didn't even know they had a deluxe version. Good to know! We'll have to check that one out  thanks!
I have to thank you so much. I just looked up the doll we have only to discover she is labeled as "non poseable" so weird!!' Now that makes complete sense. She is one of the special hair dolls. Guess she's just for more of a display. Had no idea!

My kids got a few toys with no volume control. Ughh, so annoying. I usually take a piece of scotch tape and put it over the speaker of loud toys.
Thankfully we are not at the Lego stage yet, my sister just posted on FaceBook my nephews Lego set is missing pieces already.

It is everywhere and of course my DDs favorite gift.

Hungry Hungry Hippos. This game is SO ***** LOUD (and obvi why it's so fun). I don't even think we have any balls left though...either the dog or the baby ate them I think...

All toys that light up or make sound! I hate most toys...I only like very simple open ended things which is not what most people give... I really hate toys, kids have too much

Charlie Brown school bus which the doors fall off every 2 minutes. I feel like chucking it out the window.
My kids got an instrument set-kazoo doesn't work, sick of hearing the damn harmonica daily, tambourine was punched a hole in the middle about a minute after opening. Aaggh!

Aquabeads. I have a hard time getting the beads where I want let alone my 4yo. Then they take forever to dry or come apart when I try to get them off the tray.

I hate the VTech Go! Go! play sets. We got like 4 different ones for DS's first birthday, and they looked great at first. But then after we set them up, we realized none of them stay together, so DS just pulls the play set apparent, and then the pieces are everywhere. We now have 2 large plastic tubs of all the pieces sitting in a corner. I want to get rid of it, because I don't foresee him ever playing with it. He's not really a sit and nicely play kid, he's more of a lets knock everything over kid.

We have the beados and I really have to soak them and let them dry overnight flip it and let them dry more.

Ours took forever to hatch...who has time to rub the thing for two hours lol. After it hatched, my daughter hasn't touched it since! Glad I only paid like $45 for it at BJ's! Also glad I don't have to hear it's annoying furby like voice all the time
